The wines of the Champagne region in Northern France have long been associated with celebrations – but with so many Champagne Houses to choose from, how do you know which one to pick for your Christmas and New Year’s celebrations?

Come along to Moore Wilson’s College Street Fresh this weekend, and you’ll be able to try a different Champagne each day:

Thursday 17th December, 4pm-6.30pm
Champagne Billecart-Salmon
This relatively small Champagne House from the village of Mareuil-sur-Ay produces a distinctive elegant style.
Try their Brut Réserve NV and their World-Famous Brut Rosé NV

Friday 18th December, 2pm-6pm
Champagne Bollinger and Champagne Ayala
James Bond’s Champagne of choice, Bollinger is renowned for its rich toasty style. You’ll be able to try this alongside the lighter style of sister Champagne House Ayala.
On tasting: Bollinger Special Cuvee NV and Ayala Brut Majeur NV

Saturday 19th December, 2pm-6pm
Champagne Laurent-Perrier
This 200 year old Champagne house is a real favourite here at Moore Wilson’s – a balanced style with hints of brioche, come and try yourself

Sunday 20th December, 2pm-5pm
Champagne Moet & Chandon and Cloudy Bay Pelorus
Moet has been around a long time, but certainly not stuck in their ways, come along and try the newest release from Moet – their sweeter-style Moet Ice made to drink with ice in the glass! The parent company Moet Hennessy not only has interests in France, they acquired NZ favourite Cloudy Bay a few years ago, and have been able to impart some of their bubbly wine making know-how in their ‘Pelorus’ Methode Traditionelle
On tasting: Moet & Chandon Ice NV and Cloudy Bay Pelorus Brut NV
