'Fortified' wines have a distilled spirit (normally brandy) added either during or after fermentation. Originally fortifying wines was a way of preserving them, but distinct styles like Sherry (Jerez), Madeira, Manzanilla, Vermouth and Port developed into popular and rather sophisticated drinks.
  1. A light wine of golden color. Very harmonious with delicate aromas of almonds and orange peel. Half dry palate denoting almonds and citrus fruits. With a good end-of-mouth, this is also an excellent appetizer.
    $35.50 Bottle
  2. This wine is a small contribution to the Barossa's great tradition of producing outstanding aged fortified wines. The many years Rockford allow the wine to age in small oak casks encourages the flavours to slowly concentrate and develop into a rich and luscious traditional Barossa Tawny. This blend has an average age of about fifteen years.
    $64.95 Bottle
  3. Cocchi Americano, for its nature, represents the link between wine and liquors being a wine plus a small quantity of alcohol bittered (“amaricato”) by the infusion of precious herbs and spices.
    $50.95 Bottle
  4. During its history, Cocchi has produced some variants to its Aperitivo Americano. The most recent is Cocchi Rosa produced with a base of red wines of Piedmont to which herbs and spices extracts are added, in particular gentian, cinchona, citrus zests and rose petals.
    $50.95 Bottle
  5. A rich taste with vibrant notes of cocoa and bitter orange. From the infusion of some noble and balsamic woods, we have in the end light aromas of camphor and rosemary notes. Among the minor ingredients, herbs and woods with unique perfumes such as sandal, musk, myrrh and nutmeg.
    $51.95 Bottle
  6. Deep tawny with a distinctive yellow-green edge characteristic of extended wood maturation. Intense raisin fruits, fruitcake, liquorice, roasted walnuts all integrated together seamlessly with a freshness contradicting age. Classical Penfolds fruitcake, liquorice and vanillin oak flavours with a sweet full and round mid-palate, and a finish that persists on and on.

  8. For over 170 years, Dubonnet Rouge Grand Aperitif de France has been celebrated around the world as an authority on the aperitif tradition. Crafted from a proprietary blend of red wine, herbs and spices.
    $32.95 Bottle
  9. Dow’s Fine Tawny is a three-year-old blend aged in small oak casks at our lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia. The barrel ageing produces a smoother and lighter style of wine than the Dow’s Ruby which is aged primarily in large oak vats and tonels. Dow’s Tawny combines subtle fruit with delicious velvety nutty flavours derived from the cask ageing. It is ready to drink and enjoy when bottled and does not require further ageing.
    $41.95 Bottle
  10. Full-bodied, with rich black fruit on the palate, and fragrant blackberry aromas. Bottled young in order to retain its freshness and characteristic opulence, Six Grapes is typically aged for between one and two years in seasoned wooden casks.
    $59.95 Bottle
  11. Dow’s LBV is full-bodied, rich but perfectly balanced with soft peppery tannins and with a fine acidity that ensure perfect balance on the palate. The classic Dow’s dry finish is always present in the house’s LBV; it is one of the finest LBV Ports available.
    $51.95 Bottle
  12. Great Grandfather Rare Tawny is sourced from stage six of the ‘Grandfather Solera’ and individual batches of maturing Grandfather that are identified as having exceptional quality. These components are further aged before being blended and introduced into the ‘Great Grandfather Solera’.
