  5. A deep ruby colour. An aroma of good intensity and complexity with balsamic notes of resin and rock rose, floral notes of basil, splashes of red and black fruits, and spicy tones of black pepper. On the palate, this wine has good volume, a lively acidity and robust tannins, alongside prominent notes of red and black fruit, and black pepper. It has an incredibly balanced finish.

  6. Aged for up to three years in oak casks, the wines are then blended together a few months before bottling. Aromas of ripe berry fruit, butterscotch, figs & prunes with nutty & spicy notes.

  7. Dow’s Fine Tawny is a three-year-old blend aged in small oak casks at our lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia. The barrel ageing produces a smoother and lighter style of wine than the Dow’s Ruby which is aged primarily in large oak vats and tonels. Dow’s Tawny combines subtle fruit with delicious velvety nutty flavours derived from the cask ageing. It is ready to drink and enjoy when bottled and does not require further ageing.
    $41.95 Bottle
  8. A first class aperitif wine, a beautiful amber/honey colour, it shows excellent fruit on the palate, but at the same time has a long relatively dry finish.
    $35.95 Bottle
  9. A light wine of golden color. Very harmonious with delicate aromas of almonds and orange peel. Half dry palate denoting almonds and citrus fruits. With a good end-of-mouth, this is also an excellent appetizer.
    $35.50 Bottle
  10. Intense, with a very dense colour and delicate brownish reflections, characteristic of an evolution taking place in bottle. Appetising, fresh and alluring aroma, black plum, cassis, anise and tobacco notes and a slight touch of lavender. Creamy mouth, very aromatic, cocoa, cherry and pipe tobacco. It is refreshing without being heavy, good tannin structure and a long and aromatic finish. Today, it is a harmonious and elegant wine. Age gave it a fine delicacy, but it still can and should mature for long years.
    $129.95 Bottle
  11. Ruby Port is the most extensively produced type of port. After fermentation it is stored in tanks made of concrete or stainless steel to prevent oxidative aging, and preserve its rich claret colour.
    $44.95 Each
  12. In the 20 Year Old tawny, the fruit has mellowed further than in the 10 Year Old, and the spicy, nutty aromas of ageing are more powerful and intense.
