Terms and Conditions
All prices on our website are in New Zealand dollars and are inclusive of GST. The prices here on Moore Wilson's Online are the same as you will find in our stores.
Moore Wilson’s is a Cash and Carry business, and our philosophy is still very much ‘everyday low prices’ – something that is essential for consistent supply to our trade customers.
Because we keep our margins low, you get the cheapest prices if you pay Cash (rather than by credit card) and Carry (rather than have it delivered) – but we have negotiated super-low rates with our couriers and pass these on to you.
We reserve the right to adjust prices, offers, goods and specifications of goods at our discretion at any time before (but not after) we accept your order. Where an end date is specified on any offer on the website, it is intended as a guide only. For more information, see Availability.
Moore Wilson’s is traditionally a cash and carry business. In order to maintain our everyday low prices for cash customers, we add a 2% surcharge to credit and debit card transactions online and instore.
We use DPS Windcave to securely handle card transactions, so we do not see or store your card details at any stage.
If you’d prefer to pay cash for your online purchase, and have internet banking set up, you can do this by using Account2Account to securely transfer the money. Simply select this option at checkout and follow the instructions.
With the current situation of the Covid19 virus our couriers are implementing a protocol of contactless deliveries across the nation. This will be for both Business to Business and Business to Consumer deliveries. In effect this will mean that couriers will not be asking receivers to touch their scanner or physically sign for an item until further notice.
For the time being the protocol for couriers will be to ask for the person’s name, key it in and then add the term CV19 on the scanner on the receivers behalf.
In order to make things simple and convenient, we have set our courier delivery pricing based on a standard delivery box, with dimensions of 330mm L x 250mm W x 310mm H, and a maximum weight of 18kg.
To get an idea of how much that is, the delivery box fits up to 12 bottles of wine, one kitchen mixer, or one feather and down duvet inner. Your total delivery charge is automatically calculated in the checkout – simply enter your delivery region and let our system do the rest.
Moore Wilson’s is a Cash and Carry business, but we’ve negotiated some fantastic rates with our couriers:
- $2.95 per standard delivery box for Wellington region (incl. Kapiti and Wairarapa)
- $6.95 per standard delivery box for Rest of North Island
- $9.95 per standard delivery box for South Island
- Rural delivery - extra $4.95 (Delivery to your local rural delivery driver. Your normal rural delivery times then apply.) You can click here to check if your address is rural.
- Waiheke Island delivery - extra $17.95
- For deliveries to other offshore NZ addresses (e.g. Chatham Islands) please contact us for a quote.
When orders contain alcohol, someone over the age of 18 must be present to sign for it – if you can’t be home at the time, we recommend that the order is sent to a workplace or registering for an Authority To Leave tag at your address.
Please note: We cannot deliver to P.O Boxes. All goods are insured up until the point of delivery - until a signature is obtained. Shortages or Breakages must be reported to us within 24 hours of delivery, preferably by email, with your order number as reference. We do not ship outside New Zealand.
Once payment is received, your orders will usually be with you in 2 working days for North Island addresses, and 3 working days for South Island addresses, however we are currently experiancing delays of upto 5 working days on some deliveries. Rural addresses can take an extra 2 - 3 business days, depending on your local driver's route and schedule. You can track your order once it has been collected by our couriers – an email with the tracking reference will be sent to you automatically. Please note that the dispatch warehouse is closed on weekends and public holidays.
While we do everything we can to get your order to you as quickly as possible, there may be occasions where orders may take longer to arrive – you can follow your order’s progress using the courier tracking reference.
Can't find something? If there's a wine, beer or spirit that isn't yet available here on our website, get in touch - and we'll see what we can do about adding it to the website.
The stock levels indicated on our website are for our online warehouse, so even if we appear to be out of stock we may well have some more in one of our other stores. Please let us know and we'll do our best to track something down.
In stock vs available to order:
‘In Stock’ applies to products that are immediately available in our online warehouse. ‘Available to order’ applies to products that are available to order online but may be stored off-site. In almost all circumstances these products will be dispatched on schedule, but if what you have ordered is going to be delayed for any reason, we will contact you.
Moore Wilson’s does everything we can to ensure the stock levels in our online warehouse are correct. However, if we find ourselves out of stock when we go to assemble your order, we will let you know as soon as possible. You can then decide whether you would like a refund, replacement, or for us to contact you once it is back in stock.
Vintages indicated on the site are subject to change; occasionally a wine might switch over to the new vintage before we have updated the site.
While we do our best to keep vintages up to date, by ticking our 'Terms and conditions' at the time of placing your order, you are giving your agreement for us to substitute an alternative vintage to the one displayed on the site if it is unavailable when packing your order.
Gourmet Gift Packs
If when assembling Gourmet Gift Pack orders, any of the contents are unavailable, a substitution will be made for the closest equivalent item of similar or greater value, at no extra cost.
If for any reason you are unhappy with your order, you can return it to us. You can do this in one of two ways:
- Return the goods in original packaging to your local Moore Wilson’s store, please bring in a copy of your receipt as proof of purchase.
- Please note, we will only cover the shipping costs if a mistake was made with your order.
Please contact us first to discuss any returns or refunds. Where agreed, refunds will either be credited to the card originally used, or by bank transfer where a card was not used for the purchase.
Moore Wilson & Co. Ltd is a responsible retailer and we take our legal obligations seriously.
It is illegal for us to sell liquor to anyone under the age of 18. It is also illegal for you to buy liquor if you're under the age of 18, even if you're buying as a gift for someone else.
It is illegal for you to falsify your details if you are under the age of 18 in order to buy liquor from us.
By submitting an order with us you are confirming to us that you are over the age of 18 and legally allowed to buy liquor in New Zealand.
Orders received through our website are transacted with Moore Wilson & Co. Ltd, Off License 49C/OFF/225/2017 (expires 29/9/2020) though orders may be dispatched direct from a distribution warehouse in accordance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
