'Spirits' (AKA 'hard liquor') is the term for all distilled alcohol - in fact, the name 'spirit' came from alchemists who believed the vapor of distillation was a 'spirit' of the original material. Technically 'spirits' and 'liqueurs' are different - spirits have no added sugar, while liqueurs do - but they tend to be lumped together. Virtually all known spirits were used as health tonics or elixirs at some point in history, but transmuted into good fun drinks over time. Many countries have their 'national' drink - gin, whisky, schnapps, grappa, ouzo, soju, vodka, rakia/rakija...there's quite a list. Experiments began with sugars and flavours - resulting in limoncello, cynar, Benedictine...that's an even longer list.
  1. We craft our STIL Vodka at the base of the Kaimai Ranges in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty. Using water collected from the Toutou and Waiorohi spring-fed streams, our vodka is triple distilled and charcoal filtered to create a pure, still spirit. Blended with natural feijoa flavour, perfect on the rocks or mixed into your favourite cocktail.
    $51.95 Bottle
  2. Art Deco Gin is made with beautiful Hawke's Bay citrus. Lemon, lime & orange give this gin bursts of lush citrus to a classic London dry gin. A fresh gin with a luscious but zingy mouth feel. An elegant but fine summer gin. 15% of profits from Art Deco Gin are donated to the Art Deco Trust.
    $79.95 Bottle
  3. Bushy and herbaceous Dunedin made Gin. It's not a classic London dry gin, but our vision of what a NZ dry gin can be - smooth, bushy & dry.
    $72.95 Bottle
  4. Creamy upfront, wheat, apple and mint builds complexity. Dry and long with a buttery mouthful.
    $51.95 Bottle

  6. A traditional dry gin with the spice of rainforest botanicals, hints of fresh citrus peel, and cassia bark. Locally foraged manuka, rimu, and horopito dance with juniper and coriander seed in a shower of the freshest rainwater on the planet.

    $37.95 Bottle
  8. This year brings with it a contemporary modern dry gin with a spicy lemon wood aromatic balanced against a fruity and herbaceous palate, with a silky mouthfeel and fresh pepper finish.
    $85.95 Each
  9. Gold Medal Winner! and a consumer favourite! A contemporary style gin with native botanicals, Kawakawa & Karamu make this gin in a class of it's own. Lush sweetness from the Karamu, with a peppery zing from the kawakawa make this a well balanced flavoursome gin.
    $69.95 Bottle
  10. A little bit special, this gin is inspired by the wasabi root that grows locally in Golden Bay. Unlike most wasabi (which is often coloured horseradish), real wasabi root does not have that same searing heat – but rather a clean, earthy finish that is perfectly suited to a navy strength gin.
    $79.95 Bottle
  11. A perfectly balanced blend of molasses and sugar cane, Port O Ahuriri Golden Rum has notes of vanilla, stone fruits, toasted oak and a slight saltiness. A great sweet and round mouthfeel, this rum will keep you going back to your glass to smell, taste and dream.
    $79.95 Bottle
  12. Versatiity is key. 6 botanicals. Juniper upfront, fresh coriander, with citrus and floral angelica. Creamy preserved grapefruit with a delicate Orris finish.
    $51.95 Bottle
