Dark mahogany in colour with green-amber edge. It offers vibrant notes of maple syrup, brown sugar, shoe polish, raisin and chocolate beer nuts, all very well integrated.
On the palate it is smooth and rich at the beginning, full of prune and burned oranges peel flavours. Provocative spicy notes appear just before its nuttiness and terrific acidity cuts through the sweetness. A truly unforgettable finish.

Dense and inky purple in colour despite a relatively low alcohol level on bottling, a generous bouquet of cedar, spice and bramble. Dense and chewy on the palate, with a sturdy structure that promises further development with bottle age. Tannins are beginning to resolve, but remain firm, giving this Estate a soft edge that enables for a myriad of food pairing options. A fine right-bank Bordeaux equivalent for a terrific price.

The wine is fragrant and flinty with a hint of pink grapefruit. The palate is supple but with a limestone edge that is piercing and lingering. It will be interesting to see how this wine develops but we fully expect to see it improve with bottle age along the same lines as the other Kumeu River wines.

This Chardonnay has a full, broad nose of refreshing and bright aromas of ripe yellow stone fruits and citrus fruits along with an edge of creamy and nutty barrel-ferment and spicy oak notes, subtle lemon-curd and buttery MLF notes. The palate has flavours of citrus fruits melded with creamy barrel-ferment and nutty, spicy oak.

These wines began their life as Manzanillas and then the flor was allowed to die away so they continued their maturation with exposure to the air in the barrel. Therefore the wine has a deep topaz colour with roasted almond character yet retains the characteristic tangy flavour of Manzanilla. This wine has been slightly sweetened with Pedro Ximenez to give it a raisined edge. This wine has a beautiful amber colour, a rich hazelnut nose and hints of flor ageing. On the palate it is rich and full with roast apple, nutty-oak and a long finish.
