Dense and inky purple in colour despite a relatively low alcohol level on bottling, a generous bouquet of cedar, spice and bramble. Dense and chewy on the palate, with a sturdy structure that promises further development with bottle age. Tannins are beginning to resolve, but remain firm, giving this Estate a soft edge that enables for a myriad of food pairing options. The wine is fragrant and flinty with a hint of pink grapefruit. The palate is supple but with a limestone edge that is piercing and lingering. It will be interesting to see how this wine develops but we fully expect to see it improve with bottle age along the same lines as the other Kumeu River wines.$39.95 Bottle -
