  3. Upon release it has a subtle lemon hue. The bouquet is vibrant, an intoxicating assortment of tropical and citrus. Heady aromas of passionfruit and pineapple flirt temptingly against a backdrop of grapefruit, green apple, lemon peel and a hint of gunflint. The mouthfeel is textured yet precise, with a rousing whip of acidity and simmering phenolics that give the wine increased structure and length. A complex and serious Sauvignon Blanc, displaying intense varietal character, a multi- faceted palate, and a long salivating finish.

  4. Waxy honeydew and citrus on the nose, with light florals and a slightly autolytic/bready quality. Impeccably balanced on the palate, showing Takahiro Koyama’s influence from his time working in the Mosel in Germany, with a precisely-judged acid line cutting through the white-fleshed fruit character. A delicate, subtly off-dry expression with length and depth. Good drinking now, and will cellar well for 5 years. From vines planted in 2004 on gravelley and sandy soil. After being carefully hand harvested from a Gravel Soil vineyard in Waipara Valley, grapes were gently pressed and slowly fermented at low temperature to preserve the sweet, distinctive, precious aroma of Riesling.

    The abundant aromas and flavours evoke impressions of ripe cantaloupe melon, mango, pineapple, lychees, and manuka honey. On the palate, the wine is rich and unctuous. Underneath this, however, there is a streak of minerality and fine acidity that keep it fresh, lively and refined, drawing out its lingering after flavours.

  6. Pale green gold with silver streaks. Delicate notes of apple blossom, nectarine, honeysuckle, lime zest - with mineral undertones. On the palate -intense lime, zesty mandarin and ripe red apple. Bright acidity brings freshness and balances with generous fruit sweetness. These two aspects are accentuated by the natural spritz retained from fermentation which provides lift in the mid-palate. Th reprise is long and lingering with a satisfyingly crisp clensing texture.

This is a wine for easy drinking whilst having classic Pinot Noir flavours, the tannins are soft and well rounded. This wine is suitable for mild flavoured foods or drinking by itself.
