Brandy is made by distilling wine, and so unsurprisingly, the best brandies usually come from the best winemaking regions. France, of course, is a big player in the brandy world, with two protected brandy types - Cognac as the exclusive name for brandy produced and distilled in the Cognac region, and Armagnac for brandy from the Armagnac/Gascony region.
  1. This is a Croatian Sljivovica Plum spirit (also known as Sljivovitz). The delicious taste and aroma come from the traditional process of distilling ripe plums from the orchards in the surrounding region.
  2. Extracts from dark red cherries, subtly enhanced with exotic spices, blended with fine brandy. Incomparable almond flavour derived from crushing the cherry kernels for that smooth, fruity and warming flavour.
  3. A soft but flavoursome, entry-level calvados from Chateau du Breuil. After distillation, they carefully monitor the VSOP for a further 4 years for close over the flavour.
    $63.95 Bottle
  4. A quality French apple brandy from Chateau du Breuil. Aged 2 years before bottling, it was awarded a silver and "best in class" at the 2008 International Wine and Spirit Competition and a Bronze at the 2009 General Competition of Paris.
    $55.95 Bottle
  5. The Delord Xo offers up spicy, complex flavours, with a caramelly sweet nose. Suitably easy to drink and ideal as an after dinner tipple with some chocolate, dried fruit or nuts.
    $87.95 Bottle
  6. Delas Bas Armagnac VSOP is matured for a minimum of 5 years, made with a passion and a tradition that has been handed down the generations. Full flavoured with vanilla aromas.
    $65.95 Bottle
  7. A blend of great Armagnacs aged for at least four years in oak casks, this product has a bronzed amber colour, an intense, well-balanced bouquet and a long finish with spiced notes of plum, vanilla and forest growth.

  8. Brandy from Jerez, aged for 18 months in American oak barrels that have been infused over many years with oloroso sherries as part of the traditional system of “criaderas y soleras.”
  9. A blend of the finest French brandies distilled, aged and bottled in France. A long period of aging in the best oak casks give De Valcourt Brandy its mellow smoothness and delightful bouquet
  10. Aged in small oak barrels, with aromas of dried fruit spices and oak. Owned by Cognac house Camus, this is a wonderfully smooth French brandy with a long finish. Great value everyday brandy.
    $43.95 Bottle

    special $41.95

  11. Klipdrift Premium is known for its aromas of cedar, tobacco and warm spices with apple and walnut undertones.
  12. Best value, best taste and best for drinking. Beehive sits head and shoulders above all other brandies on the shelves in NZ. A bit more money, but well worth it.
