Gin is a broad category of spirit, but the key flavour must always be juniper (from which its name ultimately derives). While names like Beefeater, Bombay Sapphire and Tanqueray are the big sellers, New Zealand has developed its own reputation for premium gin, including Greytown's Lighthouse gin and Auckland's Rogue Society. Don't forget to pick up some very fine Quina Fina tonic water on your way to the checkout!

  1. Olive Leaf Gin is a savoury gin, five delicious years in the making. It’s textural, bright and perfect for a Martini or Gin & tonic. Using three types of cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil and olive leaf tea from the world-class groves of Victoria's Cobram Estate. Botanicals like rosemary and bay leaf transport you to the Mediterranean (even though they're from Cam’s garden), while native macadamia nuts and lemon myrtle make the gin distinctly modern Australian.
    $69.95 Bottle
  2. Rifters Original Dry gin is an enhanced dry gin full of botanical flavour, pure, clean and balanced. Experience warm earthy and citrus tones, with a smooth dry finish.
    $79.95 Bottle
  3. The sea is everything! Invigorated by a bracing breath of fresh coastal air and entranced by the endless living mysteries of the sea, Ms. Lesley Gracie considered a bold possibility: She longed to express the glorious sensory delights of the coast, as a gin. And so began HENDRICK’S NEPTUNIA GIN.
    $98.95 Bottle

  6. The Barrel Aged Salted plum gin builds on the sloe gin tradition using Chinese ingredients. It is inspired by the historical Suan Mei Tang recipe, which included things like salted plums, mulberries, hawthorne and Osmanthus. It is the first barrel aged Suan Mei gin in the world.
    $62.95 Bottle
  7. From beautiful New Zealand comes Chemistry Gin. A modern London Dry gin with botanicals including Sichuan peppercorns, sage and seaweed. A vegan gin with lemon and juniper notes and a warm, lingering finish.

  9. A little bit special, this gin is inspired by the wasabi root that grows locally in Golden Bay. Unlike most wasabi (which is often coloured horseradish), real wasabi root does not have that same searing heat – but rather a clean, earthy finish that is perfectly suited to a navy strength gin.
    $79.95 Bottle
