Yo ho ho! Rum's long and rebellious history is well-documented, and while old businesses like Mount Gay Rum (from the 18th century) continue to crank out popular drinks, the spirit of piracy and swashbuckling has inspired newcomers such as Wellington's own Smoke & Oakum to produce a whole new category of old-fashioned rums.
  1. This Top-Shelf Rum combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian Rums that were initially aged in old bourbon casks for 12-20 years. After the initial aging, the Plantation 20th Anniversary XO Rum is transported to France to age in small French Oak Casks for a further 12-18 months.
    $119.95 Bottle
  2. Plantation Barbados 5 years is a blend of rum from Barbados, the birthplace of rum. This blend ages first in Bourbon casks in its native tropical setting before crossing the sea to Chateau Bonbonnet in France. There, in small oak barrels primarily used to age Pierre Ferrand cognac, the rum continues its journey of aging under the watchful eye of the House’s cellar master.
    $73.95 Bottle
  3. The essence of Plantation Rum Original Dark is the wealth of its palate. Plantation Original Dark comprises the elegant rums of Trinidad which are distilled then aged in their tropical climate in the Caribbean in American oak barrels under high heat before traveling to France. Once in Europe, the House cellar master decides on less “high esters” for the Trinidadian rum and blends in old rums from Jamaica (15 - 20 yrs.) This end result finishes like sweet nectar but also adapts beautifully to classic cocktails made with dark rum such as the Mai Tai or Daiquiri.
    $58.95 Bottle
  4. Plantation 3 Stars is a blend of rums from three islands: Trinidad (rum aged two or three years), Barbados (young rum), and Jamaica (old rum). This final blend was carefully thought out by our cellar master and each island brings its own aromatic characteristics.
    $58.95 Bottle
  5. This rum is a tribute to the esteemed Reverend Stiggins whose favorite drink was the “pineapple rum” in the Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens.
    $74.95 Bottle
  6. STOLEN is proud to introduce the World’s First Smoked Rum… the result of an artisanal approach fueled by the desire to reinvent the rum category.
    $64.95 Bottle
  7. This award-winning premium rum, was "stolen" from Trinidad by a couple of kiwis. These guys have sourced and blended top quality rums, aged in ex-Bourbon barrels, to create this smooth complex spirit. Equally at home sipped from a short glass, or combined with coke and a squeeze of lime for a superior long drink.
    $57.95 Bottle
  8. STOLEN White was awarded a gold medal at the 2011 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and a Silver ‘Best in Class’ at the 2010 International Wine and Spirits Competition.
    $57.95 Bottle
  9. Dark and delicious. STOLEN Dark reimagines the classic, traditionally heavy, naval style dark rums, with a more modern and smoother interpretation. It’s blended by hand and uses Demerara caramel for a full bodied look and flavor, lightly toasted sweet caramel aromas and a soft honeyed texture in the mouth.
    $57.95 Bottle
  10. This remarkably developed and complex medium-aged rum has a distinctive delicate taste and is aged for a minimum of 5 years in bourbon oak barrels.
    $66.95 Bottle
  11. The limited-edition expression is crafted from a number of casks of special reserve rum, each selected by the brand’s maestros roneros – master blender. This rum has aromas of sweet pastry, baked bananas and cinnamon.
    $149.95 Bottle

  12. A fabulous Venezuelan dark golden rum, distilled from molasses in a copper pot still before 12 years of ageing.
    $82.95 Bottle
