Yo ho ho! Rum's long and rebellious history is well-documented, and while old businesses like Mount Gay Rum (from the 18th century) continue to crank out popular drinks, the spirit of piracy and swashbuckling has inspired newcomers such as Wellington's own Smoke & Oakum to produce a whole new category of old-fashioned rums.
  1. Rumbullion! is an incredible, award-winning spiced rum, exactingly blended using carefully selected Caribbean rum, Madagascan vanilla, orange peel, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom. It’s rich, complex and intensely decadent. It’s brilliant in the summer in all manner of cocktails, but it’s equally at home being sipped on a winter’s evening. Basically, it’s rather tasty and deserves to be drunk, whatever the weather.

  2. Havana Club 3 year old is the perfect place to start when making the authentic Mojito. The classic Cuban white rum, with a slight golden hue from the 3 years barrel age.
  3. Anejo is skillfully blended using our reserves from white American oak casks that previously held bourbon, and our distillation process removes many of the heavy alcohols that other rums leave in. The result? A clean, smooth and not-so-sweet spirit that tastes like something you’ll never forget.
  4. Full-bodied with rich complex flavours and a smooth finish Color: Reddish amber colour. Nose: Aromas of honey and toasted nuts. Palate: Elegant and semisweet with flavours that evoke vanilla and baked apples.
  5. Crafted by a Master Blender to commemorate Appleton's 250th Anniversary, this versatile expression is aged a minimum of 8 years in the tropical climate of Jamaica. A beautiful expression of Appleton Estate, with aromas of spicy fruit and oak, followed by hints of honey, vanilla, holiday spice and our signature orange peel note.
  6. Subtle caramel sweetness with a vanilla back bone allowed the beautiful spices to come through, highlighting local citrus, nutmeg and clove.
  7. A fabulous Venezuelan dark golden rum, distilled from molasses in a copper pot still before 12 years of ageing.
  8. This rum is a tribute to the esteemed Reverend Stiggins whose favorite drink was the “pineapple rum” in the Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens.
  9. Black Tears is all about emotions and it is inspired by the Cuban song Lagrimas Negras that tells the story of a young woman who sobbed into a vat of rum, filling it with her sorrow. This bottle is packed with emotions to celebrate the Cuba of today.
  10. This interesting cuvee has a unique aromatic style. Perfect for cocktails, it can also be enjoyed neat.
    $63.95 Bottle
  11. Superbly blended in the grand Cuban tradition, Matusalem Gran Reservea 15 is exotic, sensual, complex and sophisticated, with a hint of smoky smoothness.
  12. A delicious dark rum distilled in Guyana, Skipper was launched in 1930 and it still has the same label! Skipper Rum is distilled from sugar cane and molasses and patiently oak-aged in warehouses on the banks of the Demerara in Guyana.
