Yo ho ho! Rum's long and rebellious history is well-documented, and while old businesses like Mount Gay Rum (from the 18th century) continue to crank out popular drinks, the spirit of piracy and swashbuckling has inspired newcomers such as Wellington's own Smoke & Oakum to produce a whole new category of old-fashioned rums.
  1. Crafted by a Master Blender to commemorate Appleton's 250th Anniversary, this versatile expression is aged a minimum of 8 years in the tropical climate of Jamaica. A beautiful expression of Appleton Estate, with aromas of spicy fruit and oak, followed by hints of honey, vanilla, holiday spice and our signature orange peel note.
  2. Subtle caramel sweetness with a vanilla back bone allowed the beautiful spices to come through, highlighting local citrus, nutmeg and clove.
  3. Softly fruity at first, with hints of green apple drenched in honey and fresh mango. Hints of charred oak develop, with a touch of baking spice joining in later on.

  10. A truly superb Guatemalan rum, blended from solera aged stocks which range in age from 6 years to 23 years. Aromas and flavours of toffee, dark chocolate and tobacco - perfect as a sipping rum.
    $115.95 Bottle
  11. Plantation Old Fashioned Traditional Dark Rum is a take on that classic style of overproof rums.
  12. Planas is an extraordinary blend of Pot Still, Column and Batch Kettle rums. Aged for up to 6 years, it is elegant, rich and surprisingly intense for a white rum. The complex charcoal filtration process carried out prior to bottling gives this rum its crystal clear appearance and smooth finish.
