'Spirits' (AKA 'hard liquor') is the term for all distilled alcohol - in fact, the name 'spirit' came from alchemists who believed the vapor of distillation was a 'spirit' of the original material. Technically 'spirits' and 'liqueurs' are different - spirits have no added sugar, while liqueurs do - but they tend to be lumped together. Virtually all known spirits were used as health tonics or elixirs at some point in history, but transmuted into good fun drinks over time. Many countries have their 'national' drink - gin, whisky, schnapps, grappa, ouzo, soju, vodka, rakia/rakija...there's quite a list. Experiments began with sugars and flavours - resulting in limoncello, cynar, Benedictine...that's an even longer list.
  1. Named for the Hector’s dolphins that swim off Akaroa, Hector’s Gin comes in flavour profiles foraged from Banks Peninsula. Lemon verbena from Little River, kelp, thyme, lavender and lemon myrtle gathered by local foragers are blended with classic botanicals to create a bright citrus gin with herbaceous notes and a hint of peppery spice. Zingy and vivacious with a glorious lemony scent. Every bottle is a taste of Akaroa. Our gins are a true evocation of this beautiful part of Aotearoa.
    $69.95 Bottle
  2. Blending peanut butter with whiskey? We thought the idea sounded a little nutty too. But it’s high time a whiskey was bred to take the party to the next level. Grab a bottle of Sheep Dog Peanut Butter Whiskey, break away from the pack and woof down some good times.
    $57.95 Bottle
  3. A traditional dry gin with the spice of rainforest botanicals, hints of fresh citrus peel, and cassia bark. Locally foraged manuka, rimu, and horopito dance with juniper and coriander seed in a shower of the freshest rainwater on the planet.
    $89.95 Each
  4. An amber, almost golden yellow color. The subtle vanilla nose develops floral notes of rose and violet. Fruity plum and apricot aromas, move towards notes of sweet apple and pear pastries. Pierre Ferrand Ambre is fresh and well-balanced on the palate.
    $91.95 Each
  5. Citadelle Jardin d’Été is delicate and fresh. It opens with bright notes of lemon, yuzu and orange. The roundness of Charentais melon softens the vivacity of the citrus fruits. Superbly long, the finish remains invigorating and fruity.
    $73.95 Each
  6. Hand-crushed Dauphiné green walnuts, nutmeg, and cinnamon lend this apéritif its spicy and fruity flavours.
    $46.95 Bottle
  7. The Hearach is the first, historic single malt whisky from our island distillery and the Isle of Harris. Like the iconic Harris Tweed cloth created here for generations, our first historic whisky is woven from the hands of island people and the place we call home, intimately intertwining to produce an elegant spirit of complexity and character. This special connection between people and place continues to this day with every drop of The Hearach created by Isle of Harris hands here in the Outer Hebrides. Our recipe uses spirit matured in ex-bourbon casks, oloroso and fino butts.
    $141.95 Each
  8. Well-rounded in taste, a fragrant aroma and a hint of vanilla in the end are all characteristics that distinguish Luxardo Amaretto. Brilliantly suited to use in classic cocktails such as Amaretto Sour it can also be enjoyed neat or over ice as an after dinner drink.
    $43.95 Bottle
  9. Takara Kyoto Yuzu Liqueur
    $23.95 Each
  10. Equal parts delicious and convenient, Batched offers a handcrafted bar quality Salted Grapefruit Margarita straight from the bottle - with a simple shake and pour.
    $46.95 Each
  11. This is a Pisco made with carefully selected “aromatic” grapes, the “Italia” kind of grapes that you buy and are produced in Peru. Its scent is of attractive Muscat aromas which intensify when you savour it on the palate giving it a sense of sweetness. This Pisco couples strength and roundness. Great respect in the distillation process allows to preserve the fineness obtained in the long months of growth and maturation of these grapes.
    $74.95 Each
  12. Don Ramón Punta Diamante Reposado is double-distilled and rested in white oak, resulting in a smooth, subtle taste and robust profile. Made from 100% Blue Agave from the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, this golden spirit can be described as spiced and herbaceous with an essence of caramel pulled from the barrel.
    $59.95 Bottle
