Despite what the French may tell you, 'Champagne' wine was not invented by the famed monk Dom Pérignon - it was the English! It is largely thanks to 17th-century scientist Christopher Merrit and the superior glass production techniques in England that we have champagne today; though the myth of Perignon stuck better than the truth, and his name is now associated with the prestige cuvee of Moet & Chandon. Now 'Champagne' can refer only to sparkling wine of a certain style, produced in the Champagne region. But while it's the most famous type, don't overlook the extraordinary range of other sparkling wines available, like prosecco and methode traditionelle.
  1. This small-grower Blanc de Noir Champagne is 100% Pinot Noir from the Grand Cru vineyards of the Bouzy subregion. Outstanding value for this well-made champagne. Toasted and fruity nose, a bit smoky, with some ripe fruit and some zest at the finish.
    $73.95 Bottle
  2. Created from the 'Perpetual Reserve' and the oak-aged reserve wines, complemented by the finest successes of the 2018 harvest. Warm, generous, and definitively luxurious.
    $99.95 Bottle
  3. Tremendous quality and value, from a small but serious family producer. Light gold, elegant bubbles. Smooth, generous mouthfeel, lightly toasted brioche and subtle notes of honey.
    $59.95 Each
  4. A pale gold intensity enhanced by the clarity of a sparkling, crystalline blend. A champagne with complex and seductive aromas of dried fruits and brioche combined with floral notes. These are further enhanced by the subtle charm of lemon verbena. It exhibits a charming biscuity flavor with notes of white flesh fruits and a full and harmonious minerality which results in a sensational balanced finish.
    $99.95 Each
  5. It is a blend of 195 wines from 12 different years, the youngest of which is from 2014, while the oldest dates back to 1998. Its final composition is 51% Pinot Noir, 38% Chardonnay and 11% Meunier. A stay of around seven years in Krug’s cellars gives Krug Grande Cuvée 170ème Édition its distinct expression and elegance.
    $424.95 Each
  6. Dom Pérignon is vintage champagne only. Each vintage is a creation, singular and unique, that expresses both the character of the year, and the character of Dom Pérignon.
    $414.95 Each
  7. A robe of a white gold color with very fine and very persistent bubbles. A nose of great complexity, very flowery, with notes of citrus fruits and white peaches. A lively attack, a very present wine with great finesse that gives way to a beautiful minerality and notes of grapefruit on the finish.
    $149.95 Bottle
