Despite what the French may tell you, 'Champagne' wine was not invented by the famed monk Dom Pérignon - it was the English! It is largely thanks to 17th-century scientist Christopher Merrit and the superior glass production techniques in England that we have champagne today; though the myth of Perignon stuck better than the truth, and his name is now associated with the prestige cuvee of Moet & Chandon. Now 'Champagne' can refer only to sparkling wine of a certain style, produced in the Champagne region. But while it's the most famous type, don't overlook the extraordinary range of other sparkling wines available, like prosecco and methode traditionelle.
  1. Apple, nut and truffle nose. Crisp and fresh with a lovely mousse and delicate texture. Pleasant, but quite simple for the category.
    $43.95 Each
  2. Made in an Extra-Brut style with 5g/l dosage to compliment the bright fruit and complex, slightly nutty palate. Enticing, and celebratory, with restraint and substance. Taste: Strawberry, hazelnut, toast, joyful.
    $41.95 Each
  3. An elegant, expressive and distinct Margaret River Blanc de Blancs made at a new dedicated sparkling house in the region’s south.
    $64.95 Each

  4. Refreshingly crisp with a delicate perlage, pale straw yellow color. Delicate and complex bouquet with fruity notes reminiscent of peach and green apple with secondary notes of acacia and lilac. Fresh and light on the palate, with balanced acidity and body; harmonious with a lingering aftertaste.
    $22.95 Each
  5. Heidsieck & Co Monopole Champagne
    $61.95 Each
  6. The palate is characterised by a nice unctuousness and a frank and vivid sparkle. This sparkling wine is powerful, well-balanced with toasted notes of hazelnut on the finish.
    $25.95 Each
  7. Beatrix in a bottle is great. Fresh, dry and delicious. But we wanted to take her more places. So, Beatrix in a can was born. Adventure-ready, spontaneous and robust. The same optimally ripe Merlot grapes, the same fresh organic fizz, with slightly lower alcohol content. Engineered for wherever the breeze takes you.
    $31.95 Each
  8. Brilliant straw yellow color with hints of green, it has a persistent fine perlage. Its nose is delicate and fruity with hints of white flowers. The palate has lively ripe apple and peach flavors and a refreshing finish, with a well-balanced acidity.
    $18.95 Each
  9. This elegant wine is made in the traditional method from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and aged on yeast lees for over three years giving it a beautiful yeasty complexity.
    $52.95 Each
