'Fortified' wines have a distilled spirit (normally brandy) added either during or after fermentation. Originally fortifying wines was a way of preserving them, but distinct styles like Sherry (Jerez), Madeira, Manzanilla, Vermouth and Port developed into popular and rather sophisticated drinks.
  1. Amber in colour, with fragrant nutty aromas, this medium-dry Palomino offers amazing depth at a great price. Great with pate and cured meats.
    $26.95 Bottle
  2. This rich sweet style is easy to drink (maybe too easy!) with lovely nutty depth and a creamy finish. More popular outside of Spain - especially in the UK. The Sweetness is added after the fermentation, in the form of sweet PX grape must.
    $26.95 Bottle
  3. Stylish fruity nose, full of intense concentrated blackcurrant and cherry aromas. Full bodied and firm, the palate is crammed with luscious black fruit flavours.
    $39.95 Bottle
  4. Aged for up to three years in oak casks, the wines are then blended together a few months before bottling. Aromas of ripe berry fruit, butterscotch, figs & prunes with nutty & spicy notes.
    $39.95 Bottle
  5. Queen of vermouth. Known in the past as Bianchissimo - meaning ‘whitest’, lips have come to recognise the soft vanilla notes. With multiple awards since 1910, Pessione’s fair lady has become a name held in the highest regard.
    $32.95 Bottle
  6. Our first love. The original MARTINI®, conjured under the inspired nose of Luigi Rossi. Since the sun-blushed days of 1863, a devoted selection of regional herbs are at its heart, and natural caramel imparts its rich scarlet hue. An icon di Italia.
    $32.95 Bottle
  7. Brilliant when chilled, over ice cream, over peaches, in a veal stew or just by itself. Like you’re drinking Christmas cake.
    $29.95 Bottle
  8. Warre’s launch of Otima 10 Year Old Tawny caused a revolution in Port that introduced a completely new concept to consumers.
    $57.95 Bottle
  9. Great Grandfather Rare Tawny is sourced from stage six of the ‘Grandfather Solera’ and individual batches of maturing Grandfather that are identified as having exceptional quality. These components are further aged before being blended and introduced into the ‘Great Grandfather Solera’.

  10. Dow’s LBV is full-bodied, rich but perfectly balanced with soft peppery tannins and with a fine acidity that ensure perfect balance on the palate. The classic Dow’s dry finish is always present in the house’s LBV; it is one of the finest LBV Ports available.
    $53.95 Bottle
  11. Full-bodied, with rich black fruit on the palate, and fragrant blackberry aromas. Bottled young in order to retain its freshness and characteristic opulence, Six Grapes is typically aged for between one and two years in seasoned wooden casks.
    $58.95 Bottle
  12. Dow’s Fine Tawny is a three-year-old blend aged in small oak casks at our lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia. The barrel ageing produces a smoother and lighter style of wine than the Dow’s Ruby which is aged primarily in large oak vats and tonels. Dow’s Tawny combines subtle fruit with delicious velvety nutty flavours derived from the cask ageing. It is ready to drink and enjoy when bottled and does not require further ageing.
