'Fortified' wines have a distilled spirit (normally brandy) added either during or after fermentation. Originally fortifying wines was a way of preserving them, but distinct styles like Sherry (Jerez), Madeira, Manzanilla, Vermouth and Port developed into popular and rather sophisticated drinks.
  1. This 'Semi Secco' is the Dry style of Marsala. This is a wonderful wine to use because of its musky, raisin-like, burnt-caramel character and suits rich, warming desserts. Also used in Italian cooking.
    $32.95 Bottle
  2. A four-year-old Port, with the structure and rich fruitiness of a new vintage, and made from ‘A’ grade grapes, the finest grapes grown in the Douro. Churchill's is the only company producing all its Ports solely from ‘A’ grapes.
    $44.95 Bottle
  3. A deep ruby colour. An aroma of good intensity and complexity with balsamic notes of resin and rock rose, floral notes of basil, splashes of red and black fruits, and spicy tones of black pepper. On the palate, this wine has good volume, a lively acidity and robust tannins, alongside prominent notes of red and black fruit, and black pepper. It has an incredibly balanced finish.
    $66.79 Bottle
  4. Lusciously ripe, vibrant fruit of youth and lovely tannins, which give it the slightly peppery spice on the tongue. But it also has the elegance of age: the softness and smoothness that can only be achieved by slow ageing in old oak barrels. That’s what puts the Special in Special Reserve.
    $44.95 Bottle
  5. Intense ruby red colour, brilliant and clean. Rich red fruit aromas with a touch of age create an elegant reflection of powerful flavours, the fruit and fire characteristic of young classic Porto balanced with the finesse of age.
    $48.95 Bottle
  6. A first class aperitif wine, a beautiful amber/honey colour, it shows excellent fruit on the palate, but at the same time has a long relatively dry finish.
    $37.95 Bottle
  7. Dow’s Fine White is made primarily at our Quinta do Sol winery. Only traditional white grape varieties from the Douro valley are used. Dow’s Fine White was 100% fermented off the skins and using temperature control so that fermentation takes place between 18-22ºc. Aged for an average of three years it is bottled when ready to drink and requires no further ageing.
    $44.95 Bottle
  8. Opaque purple colour with vibrant aromas of blackberry and dark cherry as well as hints of freshly picked mint. Full-bodied with brambly fruit flavours, this wine shows. Graham’s signature complexity and elegance in perfect balance.
    $55.95 Bottle
  9. Deep purple with ruby rim. Massive concentration of ripe, blackcurrant fruit with mint and chocolate hovering over and underlay of cherries and plums in youthful guise. Deep and full on the palate with great tannic structure and terrific length. Mouth warming and vibrantly youthful.
    $49.95 Bottle
  10. An aperitif with a delicious freshness and great aromatic finesse. Light aromas of berries, orange blossom and grapefruit.
    $39.95 Bottle
  11. Dark mahogany color with iodine reflections. Clean and intense, typical of the variety. Aromas of raisins and ripe fruits.
    $49.95 Bottle
  12. Amber color with greenish reflections, bright and luminous. Pungent, soft and attenuated, with hints of hazelnuts, nuts and wood.
    $44.95 Bottle
