  1. You will not tell this wine apart from an $80+ claret. The structured, layer palate is strewn with subtleties, bringing both complexity and harmony.
  2. The bouquet and flavour suggest blackberries, purple plums, cassis, cigar box and vanilla pod. A generous spine of ripe tannins support and draw out the lingering after taste.
  3. Sweetly perfumed aromas - clove and cinnamon backed up with dark plums, vanilla and a touch of cedar. The palate is richly fruited. Plums and forest berries with savoury leather and cigar notes. Seamless and dense tannins add to the sense of warmth. Opulence nicely balanced with a red vibrancy and spice on the finish.

    A full bodied fruit driven Merlot with a smooth and supple texture. The Craggy GG Merlot and GG Syrah are the pick of the winery's best. The Merlot probably pips it.
  5. Gold in Paris and the 'house' claret of Fortnum and Mason in London, for under $20 a bottle this is really hot stuff. A rich punchy palate combined with some serious drinkability.
  6. This complex blend showcases a great vintage on their Havelock North vineyard. Dark and brooding on the nose with black doris plum, aromatic jasmine and underlying mineral notes of graphite and tar. The palate is broad and soft with supple front palate tannins and soft vanilla oak enveloping the fruit.
  7. Smooth as smooth can be. A well rounded Merlot with damson and cassis dominant on a voluptuously textured front palate.
