  8. Very fruity on the nose, with notes of black cherry, flesh blueberry and plum. Then it becomes more complex with nuanced aromas of violets, spice and peonies. Also slight smoky notes of cigar box, sweet figs and chocolate. On the palate has an initial burst of fruitiness, a medium body, and juicy acidity. A smooth low tanning finish making it exotic and easy to drink

  9. A unique block on Martinborough’s free-draining alluvial gravels closer to the township. Grown on a warm site, that leads to ripe tannin whilst keeping alcohols balanced. This block tends to reward a darker fruit profile, notes of black cherry, plum and spice along with more classical notes of forest floor and licorice. The hallmark of this block is the dense structure and firm tannins that sit upfront on the palate balancing a core of dense black fruits. The inclusion of stems helps to give the wine an aromatic lift and focus. It will continue to develop for up to 15 years and compliment roast meats, game and charcuterie.

  12. The jewel in the Esk Valley crown. This single vineyard wine sourced from the Heipipi Vineyard is widely regarded amongst the finest of New Zealand’s wines. Produced from extremely low yielding vines planted in 1989 and harvested on a single day, this field blend of Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Franc is the purest expression possible from this dramatic, steeply terraced site. Dry farmed, co-fermented in a single concrete fermenter with wild yeast and bottled without either fining or filtration this is a wine of purity and complexity, expressing the grandeur of a most unique vineyard.
