New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. This is impressively complex and inviting on the nose showing ripe peach, rockmelon, lemon peel, nougat and cedar characters with nuances of flint and spice. The palate is equally gratifying with excellent concentration and expansive mouthfeel, leading to an extremely long engaging finish. Organically produced.
    $47.95 Bottle
  2. Wow. Explosive flavour, perfect balance between the minerality, fruit and acidity and a gorgeous lick of sweetness to satisfy all who taste.
    $28.95 Bottle
  3. Lively, dry and vibrant with hints of passionfruit and citrus zest. Otherwise known as ‘the one that wins all the awards’. Pairs well with any fish dishes, particularly salmon. Works a treat with cream sauces too! And perfectly happy with an antipasto platter.
    $6.50 Can
  4. Dry, vibrant and full bodied with a luscious finish. A ripe burst of peach and passionfruit with lingering dried apricot notes. She loves to pair with almost anything, with a special fondness for spicy food.
    $6.95 Can
  5. The Treppchen Kabinett always stands out as a young wine, with its precocious red fruits and dense minerality from the red slate soil. This wine benefits greatly from a few years in the bottle.
    $36.95 Bottle
  6. The dry counterpart to Dr. L Riesling, this wine is produced with the same exacting quality standards. Because it is dry, but still beautifully fruity, this wine works with a different range of foods than the regular Dr. L Riesling, making the pair of wines extremely versatile. Dr. L dry embodies the elegant and racy style of Riesling from the slate-soil vineyards of the Mosel valley.
    $23.95 Bottle
  7. Part of this cuvée is aged in oak barrels and part of it in stainless steel tanks. The result is a combination of freshness, fruitiness and structure and nice body.
    $41.95 Bottle
  8. Characters of grapefruit, honeysuckle, acacia and a hint of rose spring to mind. The palate possesses a yeasty complexity, due to ageing in old barrels on lees, and racy acidity.
    $34.95 Bottle
  9. Mealy aromatics, subtle toasty notes with nectarine, hints of citrus and custard. A textured palate with good mouthfeel and harmony. Flavours of stone fruit, oatmeal, stone, and vanilla bean.
    $27.95 Bottle
  10. Expressive aromatics, with flint, bitter lemon citrus, grapefruit, and suggestions of tropical fruit salad. Rich, fleshy palate with good mouthfeel, texture, and power. Flavours of grapefruit, stone fruit and sweet herbs and pesto.
    $22.95 Each
  11. Honeyed nuts, apricots, and biscuity brioche, with good midpalate weight and mouth filling complexity.
    $29.95 Bottle
  12. This alcohol-removed Riesling features notes of lime, citrus blossom and elderflower on the nose. The palate offers lively and refreshing Riesling characters, with zingy lime, ripe mandarin and delicious sweetness, all balanced by a refreshing crispness.
    $16.95 Bottle
