New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. Delicate aromas of white flesh peach with complex citrus notes of Meyer lemon, lemon blossom and lemon curd. There are nuances of almond milk and wet stone minerality. The palate has mouth-filling richness and mid-palate opulence, framed with fresh citrus acidity. There is a salty minerality that along with the lemon/lime acidity provides superb length and freshness on the finish.
    $44.95 Bottle
  2. This Sauvignon Blanc is packed with classic citrus and passionfruit sorbet flavours alongside green bean and pungent herbal notes. Crisp, crunchy and delicious – it also has solid, satisfying length of flavour.
    $13.95 Bottle
  3. Pungent tropical aromas lead into a juicy palate bursting with zesty grapefruit and rock melon but finishing with flavours of fresh herbs and grassy nettles.

  4. The wine is fragrant and flinty with a hint of pink grapefruit. The palate is supple but with a limestone edge that is piercing and lingering. It will be interesting to see how this wine develops but we fully expect to see it improve with bottle age along the same lines as the other Kumeu River wines.
    $39.95 Bottle
  5. All florals and spice on the nose, and a refreshing, unoaked, palate bursting with apricot and white peach. Bags of fruit and a twist of exoticism make a great partner for Thai cuisine.
    $20.95 Bottle
  6. Luna Estate Eclipse Chardonnay
