New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. The nose is a harmony of white nectarine and the oak-influenced aromas of miso caramel and charred pineapple. The palate is ripe and rich with a brilliantly resolved acidity that sparkles like the crunch of a flaky salt crystal. Fruit is ever-present with layers of nectarine, pineapple, stewed Granny Smith apples, and the smoky oak wafting through.
    $37.95 Each
  2. Fresh and subtle nose, pure aromas of stone fruit with a touch of white flowers and phosphorus. Light and crisp on the palate, yet with good fruit concentration and a refreshing, dry, and slightly mineral finish.
    $23.95 Each
  3. Dense, ripe notes of pear and quince combine beautifully with aromas of spice and ginger. The palate is lush, rich and textural, which has been aided by partial barrel fermentation in French oak barrels. A dry wine that finishes with vibrant acidity.
    $22.95 Each
  4. This linear wine is composed of a beautiful acidity which underlines and prolongs aromas of white peach and the long citrus finish.
    $229.95 Each
  5. The first vineyard in New Zealand to plant Gewürztraminer, this is a clean fruit-driven style with richness and great aromatics.
    $21.95 Each
  6. This flagship Chardonnay expresses a medley of peach and melon flavours, overlaid with toasty oak. A rich, ripe style with finely integrated oak and a taut but harmonious acidity on the finish.
    $52.95 Each
  7. Slow Press Chardonnay delivers flavors of fresh apples and pears that intermingle with notes of toasted vanilla and oak with a full bodied, creamy finish.
    $18.95 Each
  8. Very expressive, notes of roasted almonds-hazelnuts, confited citrus fruit and a good dose of vanilled butter and toasted bread.
    $21.95 Each
  9. Green gold. Subtle rose petal and Turkish delight. Lychee and rose water.
    $15.95 Each
  10. Kumeu River Chardonnay is drawn from six different vineyard sites in the Kumeu Region. We are particularly careful in selecting only the very best grapes from these vineyards for our Kumeu River Estate label.
    $19.95 Each
  11. With maturing vines and a truly favourable year for Gewurz, this wine speaks with real accuracy and pride of its place. This, along with slow, whole bunch pressings, wild ferments and extended lees contact, has resulted in a wine which is defined by remarkable grace and clarity.
    $53.95 Each
