New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. This wine shows a nice yellow color with glints of gold. Smoked notes, spicy, floral. Smoothy and fresh mouth, intense with a hint of white flower.

  2. A fresh and pleasant blend with a golden yellow colour and a good balance of fruit, lime-tree and white flower aromas. The attack is slightly spicy and peppery with a good structure and length.

  3. Light yellow with light reflections of good intensity. The nose is marked, pleasant and intense. Fresh scents: citrus fruits (yuzu zest, clementine, lemon), exotic fruits (pineapple) and spices (ginger). Airing enhances these scents and reveals white peach, apricot and a slight hint of smokiness, such as a pencil lead. The nose shows a sophisticated ripe and tonic profile.

  4. This fresh vibrant Muscadet has a slight spritz on the palate along with fresh citrus, green apple, and lime blossom. The finish has a soft, round texture from lees aging.

  5. The Sec comes from a soil of flint clay. It is expressed in a nose of pear and peach vine. The palate is generous and crunchy with fruit. To drink now.

  6. Golden yellow with green reflections of good intensity. The nose is marked, pleasant and intense. Candied, exotic (passion fruits, mango, papaya, lychee), floral (rose) scents. Airing enhances these scents and reveals vanilla, banana, yellow fruits, pear, peach and spices (crystallised ginger). The onset in the mouth is fleshy and sweet. The alcoholic base is full-bodied.

  9. Hailing from Naboth's Vineayrd 1 Kings Ch. 21. The first vineyard in the world to see the sun. The 2019 vintage is again an energetic, luminous wine. Only 10 months on primary yeast lees offers a biscuity richness to the primary fruit. Exotic perfumes of acorns, vanilla and almonds welcome the finesse and delicacy combined with a full rich palate.   10. Petit Manseng is native of the Juraçon region of the south west of France. Forrest have made this delicious example in Marlborough, bursting with ripe white peach and zesty lemon sherbet, balanced by zippy acidity.
