New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. Mondillo's Single vineyard 2019 Dry Riesling, has enticing aromas of citrus fruit, peaches and honeysuckle with a crisp, dry finish.
    $29.95 Bottle
  2. The colour is bright lemon, with aromas of citrus (lime/ mandarin), stone fruit (apricot/ peach/nectarine) and also honeydew melon. Layered beneath there are floral notes reminiscent of honeysuckle and jasmine. While the influence of botrytis adds concentration and richness on the palate, there is also a seam of crisp acidity that ensures the wine remains fresh and lively, with a balanced and lingering finish.
    $42.95 Bottle
  3. Pure, crisp and dry wine with a fine minerality and delicacy of structure. Pear, quince and peach flavours dominate.
    $22.95 Bottle
  4. A kaleidoscope of grapiness, produced exclusively from hand harvested grapes in predominantly clay and limestone vineyards, from a dozen of the most favored localities in and around Riquewihr. Gentil "Hugel" allies the suave, spicy flavour of Gewurztraminer, the body of Pinot Gris, the finesse of Riesling, the grapiness of Muscat and the refreshing character of both Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner.
    $29.95 Bottle
  5. From one of Hawkes Bay's finest boutique winemakers. Bright, zippy wine, full of mouth-watering citrus fruit, and layered with a hint of smoky minerality. Light, fresh and elegant.
    $24.95 Bottle
  6. This wine shows an array of fruit characters, ranging from citrus through to tropical notes. This is complemented by some secondary characters from the natural yeast ferments and also some barrel aging. The palate has an elegant structure with a creamy, textural mid-palate and a long finish.
    $25.95 Bottle
  7. The nose is open and soft natured, fresh and broad. The bright look is upheld by citrus flesh, lemon rind and white flowers. Granny Smith apple, mandarin juice and menthol spice make the nose seductive and inviting to continue the journey.
    $52.95 Bottle
  8. The fruit impact is immediate with orange marmalade, lemon and ginger mixed with rumtopf style preserved fruit on show on the palate. All revolves around the middle of the palate with this wine, where it has a gorgeous and sumptuous mouthfeel with a silken and oily texture.
    $58.95 Bottle
  9. Beautiful complex aromas greet the nose with brioche, crème brulée, rock melon and honeycomb, followed by stone fruit, ripe pears, mango and quince. The palate is classic Dry River Pinot Gris, transparent, dense with a broad ‘gourmand’ mouthfeel and a light acidity to balance out some sweetness.
    $65.95 Bottle
  10. Concentrated aromas of peach, citrus, honey and floral fruits. A softly concentrated wine, perfectly balanced, with a lingering apple finish. Enjoy!
    $37.95 Bottle
  11. 100% ovum, first use. Skeetfield fruit, unfined and unfiltered. Beautiful nose with subtly mealy citrus fruit. The palate has beautiful texture and finesse. There’s a bright, lively citrus core with fine-grained structure. Such precision and detail with some spicy, mealy richness.
    $129.95 Bottle
  12. The Skeetfield Vineyard has old vine dry-farmed Mendoza Chardonnay vines. The fruit was hand-picked and whole bunch pressed with minimal settling. This wine was 100% barrel fermented and matured, with 60% new Taransaud French oak.
    $71.95 Bottle
