New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. There’s a lovely slap of tangy, natural sweetness in this apple-packed sensation. Summer flowers, ripe nectarine and homemade lemonade notes leap from the glass and it’s practically impossible to put down once you’ve had that first sip.
    $25.95 Bottle
  2. Petit Chablis comes from the outlying areas of the Chablis appelation. Predominantly clay soils, unlike the chalky limestone of the vineyards in Chablis. This William Fevre Petit Chablis is fresh, fruity and floral with mineral notes. A light and lively wine.
    $41.95 Bottle
  3. The Alsace classic Riesling. Dry and fresh on the palate, vivacious, nicely taut and elegantly structured, giving depth and persistence.
    $41.95 Bottle
  4. A broad, floral full flavoured white wine. Best served with mussel fritters.
    $31.95 Bottle
  5. Established 250 years ago, the Lorentz family cultivate their passion for wine in the small, medieval town of Bergheim, in the very heart of the Alsace wine-growing region.
    $33.95 Bottle
  6. Very intense and fruity nose with notes of white flowers and quince.
    $31.95 Bottle
  7. The Pinot Gris " Hospices de Colmar " from old vines with an average age of more than 25 years develops smoky aromas, mixed with exotic fruit scents. Full-bodied and heady, full of nobility, this wine is delicate, finesse with a pleasantly sweet attack, generous and warm to the palate.
    $36.95 Bottle
  8. Think you know Chardonnay? Try this bright fresh example from Southern Burgundy. Floral and fruity, with hints of white flowers, apple and lemon aromas. Precise, refreshing and direct.
    $29.95 Bottle
  9. Typical gilded, brilliant, with green shades. In the mouth, we find the acid attack typical of Picpoul de Pinet accompanied by a beautiful structure, ample, pleasant, harmonious. The finish is long and exotic. A first pleasant and explosive nose, with aromas of fresh fruits with white flesh, and exotic fruits. Complex, it expresses notes of citrus, anise, linden, honeysuckle, acacia, and a slight minerality.
    $24.95 Bottle
  10. Grenache Blanc at its soft savoury best. Think viognier with the the floral volume on low and the brioche notes on pleasant. A versatile food wine for delicate creamy dishes.
    $31.95 Bottle
  11. A very fresh and clean nose, this classic Chablis in character leads to intense and ultra fresh citrus flavours that possess excellent depth, detail and persistence
    $41.95 Bottle
  12. Golden yellow with green reflections of good intensity. The nose is marked, pleasant and intense. Candied, exotic (passion fruits, mango, papaya, lychee), floral (rose) scents. Airing enhances these scents and reveals vanilla, banana, yellow fruits, pear, peach and spices (crystallised ginger). The onset in the mouth is fleshy and sweet. The alcoholic base is full-bodied.
    $41.95 Bottle
