New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. A structured, lively and mineral wine with good length on the palate. Both straightforward and fresh, with exemplary concentration.
    $99.95 Each
  2. Aromas of kiwifruit and melon on the nose. This travels onto the palate which is textured and well-rounded with a lively acidity that helps to balance it. Some lemon and green sweets on the palate with just some oak and honey which helps to round it out and give it a long finish.
    $43.95 Bottle
  3. This is a fruity yet mineral wine with perfectly balanced body and acidity. It's a blend of Grenache Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and a little-known grape called Terret. Zingy, zesty and full of notes of green apple, kiwifruit and lime zest. A perfect match for poultry or vegetables, or spicier dishes like curries.
    $19.95 Each
  4. This wine has been made from grapes grown on the slopes of the Pont du Gard, on limestone-clay soils formed in the Villafranchian stage. 100% Viognier. An intense, bright colour, with a golden hue. The specific aromas of the grape variety are to the fore, with apricots, peaches, exotic fruit and preserved citrus fruit. The palate is both smooth and fresh, finishing on hints of dried fruit.
    $19.95 Bottle
  5. Pale yellow with a fairly strong intensity, Notes of white flowers and white fruits, Fresh attack and light minerality
    $21.95 Each
  6. Pale yellow with green highlights, Nice intensity with light floral and exotic fruit notes, Nice tension in the attack, explosion of fruits in the mouth with a fresh and tense finish
    $19.95 Each
  7. This wine has all the classic hallmark traits of classic white Burgundy. It presents as pale gold in colour with aromas of ripe pear, white peach and citrus. The palate is concentrated, juicy and round, with citrus and stone fruits and a touch of creaminess. The oak is well-integrated in both aroma and flavour. A crisp, fine line of acidity with a clean, mineral finish.
    $27.95 Each
  8. Floral on the nose, with a hint of spice, the palate starts off on exotic fruits, giving way to lychee fruit and a slightly sweet finish, but well balanced with acid.
    $31.95 Bottle
  9. Clear and shiny goldish yellow, with green hints when young, it offers fresh and subtle citrus aromas with notes of exotic fruits and honey. The palate is intense and elegant; this wine is balanced with vibrant minerality and packed with fruits and almond flavours. This medium-body wine will develop its aromatic potential with ageing.
    $33.95 Each
