New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. This wine has been made from grapes grown on the slopes of the Pont du Gard, on limestone-clay soils formed in the Villafranchian stage. 100% Viognier. An intense, bright colour, with a golden hue. The specific aromas of the grape variety are to the fore, with apricots, peaches, exotic fruit and preserved citrus fruit. The palate is both smooth and fresh, finishing on hints of dried fruit.
    $19.95 Bottle
  2. Pale yellow with green highlights, Fermentation and lemon notes, Vivacious attack with delicate citrus notes and a long finish

  3. Aromas of kiwifruit and melon on the nose. This travels onto the palate which is textured and well-rounded with a lively acidity that helps to balance it. Some lemon and green sweets on the palate with just some oak and honey which helps to round it out and give it a long finish.

  4. Interesting blend of Marsanne and Rolle also known as Vermentino. The Marsanne bring the body and power while the Rolle bring the aromatic and freshness.

  8. Floral on the nose, with a hint of spice, the palate starts off on exotic fruits, giving way to lychee fruit and a slightly sweet finish, but well balanced with acid.
    $31.95 Bottle
  9. Clear and shiny goldish yellow, with green hints when young, it offers fresh and subtle citrus aromas with notes of exotic fruits and honey. The palate is intense and elegant; this wine is balanced with vibrant minerality and packed with fruits and almond flavours. This medium-body wine will develop its aromatic potential with ageing.
    $33.95 Each
  10. Aromas of flints and spices. Powerful in fruit and in body evokes the Sauvignon flower and the sap of the vines. With a superb balance, a delicate and harmonious expression all its elegance grows as it goes along.
    $45.95 Bottle
  11. Burgundy bargain hunters, look no further. Succulent honeydew melon and the classic milkgum malo character, beautifully balanced with a mouthwatering, fresh finish.
    $25.95 Bottle
  12. A kaleidoscope of grapiness, produced exclusively from hand harvested grapes in predominantly clay and limestone vineyards, from a dozen of the most favored localities in and around Riquewihr. Gentil "Hugel" allies the suave, spicy flavour of Gewurztraminer, the body of Pinot Gris, the finesse of Riesling, the grapiness of Muscat and the refreshing character of both Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner.
