New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. This wine has been made from grapes grown on the slopes of the Pont du Gard, on limestone-clay soils formed in the Villafranchian stage. 100% Viognier. An intense, bright colour, with a golden hue. The specific aromas of the grape variety are to the fore, with apricots, peaches, exotic fruit and preserved citrus fruit. The palate is both smooth and fresh, finishing on hints of dried fruit.
    $18.95 Bottle
  2. Aromas of kiwifruit and melon on the nose. This travels onto the palate which is textured and well-rounded with a lively acidity that helps to balance it. Some lemon and green sweets on the palate with just some oak and honey which helps to round it out and give it a long finish.
    $43.95 Bottle
  3. The nose reveals dominant floral aromas with hints of white flowers which evolve into mineral, fruity notes with a discreet almond note. Fresh and nervy, this wine is well-balanced with a refreshing and persistent finish.
    $32.95 Bottle

  4. Hints of yellow fruits, floral tones and a pleasant note of beeswax on the nose. Everything white Burgundy should be - rich and enveloping, yet so elegant and refined!
    $89.95 Bottle
  5. Part of this cuvée is aged in oak barrels and part of it in stainless steel tanks. The result is a combination of freshness, fruitiness and structure and nice body.
    $41.95 Bottle
  6. Floral on the nose, with a hint of spice, the palate starts off on exotic fruits, giving way to lychee fruit and a slightly sweet finish, but well balanced with acid.
    $31.95 Bottle
  7. Interesting blend of Marsanne and Rolle also known as Vermentino. The Marsanne bring the body and power while the Rolle bring the aromatic and freshness.
    $17.95 Bottle
  8. Aromas of flints and spices. Powerful in fruit and in body evokes the Sauvignon flower and the sap of the vines. With a superb balance, a delicate and harmonious expression all its elegance grows as it goes along.
    $45.95 Bottle
  9. Burgundy bargain hunters, look no further. This is Pouilly Fuisse level chardonnay for a fraction of the price. Steely minerally crispness with a refreshing finish.
    $25.95 Bottle
  10. A kaleidoscope of grapiness, produced exclusively from hand harvested grapes in predominantly clay and limestone vineyards, from a dozen of the most favored localities in and around Riquewihr. Gentil "Hugel" allies the suave, spicy flavour of Gewurztraminer, the body of Pinot Gris, the finesse of Riesling, the grapiness of Muscat and the refreshing character of both Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner.
    $29.95 Bottle
  11. A fantastic Chablis Premier Cru, this wine is linear with a complex, mineral palate and notes of citrus fruits. It is also rich and broad with a long lasting taste. Thanks to its high acidity it has good potential for ageing.
    $64.95 Bottle
  12. Pale gold colour. Floral fragrances mixed with citrus fruit aromas with a delicate oak note. Ample, fresh and fleshy. Long and taut finish with a hazelnut note.
    $59.95 Bottle
