New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. The wine is very aromatic, with crisp acidity to balance a hint of residual sweetness. It’s also versatile as a great match with many different styles of foods and all the while holding its signature low alcohol in great balance.
    $36.95 Bottle
  2. On the nose it’s signature Pinot Grigio having aromas of pear, apple, and citrus with a slight hint of floral character. The palate is bursting with citrus underpinned by round fruit flavours and brisk acidity.
    $12.95 Each

  3. One Vineyard. Three Germanic Luminaries... Düfte Punkt is an aromatic paradigm-shift. A seamless single vineyard field blend of spicy Gewürztraminer, precise Riesling and textural Kerner (Weißer Herold). Striking tropical and turkish delight aromas introduce a complex palate showing lychees, mandarins, minerality and a lingering powder-puff of florals.
    $21.95 Each
  4. The Knappstein Riesling has both elegance and intensity, with true Knappstein traits of lime, spice and white florals on the nose and a generously flavoured palate. Lively acid, mineral texture and a powerful and persistent lemon finish.
    $23.95 Bottle
  5. Pale straw in colour with green hues. Intense classic lemon aromas, with a hint of white flowers. Bottle aged characters of toast, clove oil and lemongrass emerge and combine with the still fresh citrus and white flowers of its youth. The palate has great length and depth with concentrated power and fresh, pristine lime juice overlaid with toasted brioche, sage oil and lime marmalade.
    $35.95 Each
  6. Fresh, crisp and quite delicate, the palate is loaded with attractive citrus characters. The lively acid provides much of the drive and sees the wine finish clean and dry with just a hint of talc like grip on the finish.
    $25.95 Bottle
  7. Vasse Felix Chardonnay is typified by its bright, elegant fruit, subtle wild complexities and a tight acid structure, reflecting the vibrancy and purity of this variety in Margaret River. 'Filius' translates to 'son of' in Latin, reflecting the relationship between this wine and its premier 'father'.
    $31.95 Bottle
  8. A wine that really does offer something for a large array of individuals, from someone purely interested in a nice drink to those seeking to explore the nuances of these “alternate” varieties.
    $21.95 Bottle
  9. Fantastic value from the pioneers of Viognier in Australia. We describe the flavours as a cross of Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer.
    $11.95 Bottle
  10. Vibrant in colour – a touch more than usual due to the warm year. Lovely florals and lemon grass aromas. Mouth filling flavours of pear and lemon pith balancing the zesty acid backbone. A classic Hunter Valley Semillon to enjoy now or age gracefully.
    $29.95 Bottle
