New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. Mara Martin Godello
    $24.95 Each
  2. Ripe peach and candied citrus are layer with a subtle elderflower approach. Intensely rich, yet balanced, the palate offers weight and texture. Elegant structured acid compliments the juicy notes with good tension. A nod from the terroir, a stoney minerality leaves a lengthy and full-bodied finish.
    $35.95 Each
  3. This wine offers a complex aroma of citrus, stonefruit, and spice characteristics. The palate has depth and intensity with mineral notes and a powerful finish with flavours of apricot and vanilla, balanced by a juicy acidity. A Chardonnay that shows richness alongside a tightly structured palate with layers of texture and pairs well with snapper, saffron, shellfish and other delicate flavours.
    $43.95 Each
  4. Full-bodied, rich and spicy with a peachy sweetness, a mealy savouriness, polished cedary oak and a rich, expansive, creamy finish with delectable hints of butterscotch and crème brulee.
    $44.95 Bottle
  5. Fresh peach, ripe pink grapefruit, vanilla, dried fig and aromatic spice. The palate is elegant and complex with stone fruit, a hint of orange, toasted hazelnut and a toffee note. Ten months maturation on lees in French oak barrels has created a rich creaminess and fine tannin structure.
    $27.95 Bottle
  6. Stunningly well balanced with beautiful spice and floral notes. Will cellar well for 2 - 4 years.
    $23.95 Bottle
  7. The colour is lemon-straw. On the nose there is an abundance of citrus, in particular the orange zest that is such a regional feature of North Canterbury Rieslings.
    $37.95 Bottle
  8. Intensely perfumed, with notes of lychees, ripe oranges and cloves. These lead into luscious varietal flavours of lychee and quince, with underlying characters of ginger and exotic spice. The palate shows intense fruit concentration and weight with a fine, soft texture and excellent persistence of flavour.
    $31.95 Bottle
  9. The Toru has an intriguing nose with notes of mango, fresh citrus, white florals and exotic spices. These lead into a multi-layered palate with flavours of mango, citrus, red apple and lychee with a lingering spiciness.
    $22.95 Bottle
  10. Fragrant aromas of grapefruit blossom, mandarin and lime zest with a mineral note. A luscious palate with Meyer lemon and ripe grapefruit flavours. The wine has a wonderful length with just a hint of sweetness on the finish.
    $23.95 Bottle
  11. Up the Coast North of Wellington in Horowhenua, local viticulturist Kate Gibbs identified that the river gravel soils of Ohau were similar to Marlborough. Lovely zesty, LOCAL Savvy!
    $21.95 Bottle
  12. Aromas of flints and spices. Powerful in fruit and in body evokes the Sauvignon flower and the sap of the vines. With a superb balance, a delicate and harmonious expression all its elegance grows as it goes along.
    $45.95 Bottle
