New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. Finely made, balanced, fresh and not overly oaky (if any). The fruit shines with a crisp underlying minerality that lives long in the mouth after you've swallowed.
    $17.95 Bottle
  2. From Kevin Judd comes this super new Sauvignon. A portion of the fruit was hand harvested and fermented in old oak barriques with indigenous yeast. A savoury, complex wine.
    $26.95 Bottle
  3. Bright fresh Verdejo - Spain's answer to Sauvignon Blanc. If you're after an organic bargain, try this lively refreshing Verdejo.
    $15.95 Bottle

  4. This is fast becoming an iconic, must have pinot gris.Textured and finely made with some seriously lush fruit ahoy.
    $16.95 Bottle
  5. One of the icon Sauvignon Blancs of Marlborough. Wither Hills combines crisp acidity with ripe tropical and citrus fruit flavours in this dry wine with a long finish.
    $15.95 Bottle
  6. Bounding with fresh fruit aromas and flavours of the vegetable garden, apples, pears and honeysuckle. A mineral backbone and an off dry finish making this a refreshing style of Gris
    $18.95 Bottle
  7. Wild indeed. Kevin Judd of Cloudy Bay fame has produced one of the funkiest most interesting expression of Sauvignon you'll ever taste.
    $36.95 Bottle
  8. Craggy Range Gimblett Gravels Chardonnay

2022 ***** Five Stars Michael Cooper - Listener Feb 2020

Full bodied with ripe tropical fruit and firm oak influences. A well balanced Chardonnay that will reward short to medium term cellaring.
    $36.95 Bottle
  9. Gorgeous inviting white made from 100% Pinot Noir. Aromas of nashi pear, peach and citrus blossom. A rich fruit entry with concentrated flavours of peach and pear leading to a dry finish.
    $27.95 Bottle
  10. At first the wine displays an enticing bouquet of dried herbs and aromatic citrus fruit with a hint of the stony elements which follow in the mouth. The broad and lush white fleshed fruit in the entry is wonderfully restrained by the saline laced acid on the long, calm finish.
    $26.95 Bottle
  11. A slightly off-dry style of Riesling with fresh apple and lime flavours and hints of apricot and honey. Perfect with all variety of flavours or great as an aperitif.
    $28.95 Bottle
  12. Made by the talented team at Palliser Estate in Martinborough. Buttery notes, creamy and tropical fruit driven. Classy and affordable.
    $24.95 Bottle
