New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. Aromatic and full of flavour. Lychee and apricot evident on the nose with a rich, full texture and spicy, luscious finish.
    $19.95 Bottle
  2. Finding a nice little Chard like this - for this money is a rare thing. Intense stone fruit aromas of peach and nectarine with subtle smokey notes. Creamy fruit sweetness provides a supple texture leading into a generously flavoured finish with a touch of spicy oak.
    $11.95 Bottle
  3. Typically vibrant, citrussy and herbal Marlborough Sauvignon, with kaffir lime and blackcurrant leaf notes against a backdrop of grapefruit and tropical fruit flavours. Bargain!
    $11.95 Bottle
  4. What a cracker from the good folk at Haha! Bright and fresh, plenty of tropical citrus and lovely herbaceous finish. Summer afternoons in the garden will be complete with a glass of this!
    $12.95 Bottle
  5. 100% Verdicchio The historic amphora bottle is a characteristic feature of this Verdicchio. It is a fresh wine with a medium structure and an extremely pleasant fruity character.
    $23.95 Bottle
  6. This Pinot Gris combines fruit from premium sites in Central Otago, including our mature family owned vineyard in Wanaka, Mt Maude. Typical aromas of ripe pear, quince and brioche lead onto a rich textured palate where whole bunch pressing and partial barrel fermentation has created complexity.
    $27.95 Bottle

  7. Typical gilded, brilliant, with green shades. In the mouth, we find the acid attack typical of Picpoul de Pinet accompanied by a beautiful structure, ample, pleasant, harmonious. The finish is long and exotic. A first pleasant and explosive nose, with aromas of fresh fruits with white flesh, and exotic fruits. Complex, it expresses notes of citrus, anise, linden, honeysuckle, acacia, and a slight minerality.
    $24.95 Bottle
  8. This unique Blanc de Noir was made from 100% Pinot noir grapes. The elegant champagne colour resulted from minimal skin contact prior to a gentle whole bunch press.
    $29.95 Bottle
  9. Forrest Estate Riesling

2020 Recommended by Cuisine Magazine February 2021

Kiwi-style Riesling -a delicate off dry wine made in a deliciously juicy fruit driven style. Very pure, citrus/lime and subtle stone-fruit flavours. Intense, concentrated and harmonious with that perfect balance of ripe fruit sweetness, fresh acidity, drying minerality and long long finish.
    $22.95 Bottle
  10. Golden in colour, this Chardonnay opens up in the glass to reveal stone fruit, citrus and subtle oak flavours. This Chardonnay underscores the minerality from our limestone soils. Produced organically.
    $47.95 Bottle
  11. Vavasour Pinot Gris displays a richly structured palate featuring layers of crisp fruit, backed by hints of ginger and the long mineral finish typical of the Awatere Valley. Enjoy this wine as an aperitif or pair it with fresh seafood or spicy Asian dishes.
    $20.95 Bottle
  12. Pinot Grigio IS pinot gris, but the Italians work to a much more subtle, dry expression. Try with salmon and asparagus for one of the great wine and food matches.
    $25.95 Bottle
