New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. A lifted and intense bouquet of baking spice, apple and mandarin. The saline infused palate is bright, racy and focused. The Dry style makes a statement: taut and austere but with an enduring palate of crushed rocks and salty, apple notes. Exotic, mineral and powerful; a pure expression of the schist soils of Block 2. The thinking man’s Gin and Tonic!

  2. Enticing summer aromas of crisp green apple, fresh lime, white flowers and wet stone. The vivid and juicy fruit rolls through to the back of the palate like a wave, before slowly receding, revealing the stony acidity lying underneath.
    $23.95 Bottle
  3. The Alsace classic Riesling. Dry and fresh on the palate, vivacious, nicely taut and elegantly structured, giving depth and persistence.
    $41.95 Bottle
  4. A lighter style riesling from Canterbury with crisp acidity and plenty of green apple and apricot flavours. This is a great lunchtime or aperitif style wine.
    $17.95 Bottle
  5. A fabulous riesling from the hills of Waipara. Light and elegant with a lasting finish.
    $28.95 Bottle
  6. Seriously...dude...you gotta try this wine! The perfect harmonious balance between the acidity, fruit and minerality is lifted to great heights by a dollop of natural fruit sweetness
    $26.95 Bottle
  7. An off-dry style riesling with lovely fresh acidity. Luscious on the front palate with honey, apricot and lime flavours leading to a crisp and refreshing finish. A great aperitif style.
    $19.95 Bottle
  8. A slightly off-dry style of Riesling with fresh apple and lime flavours and hints of apricot and honey. Perfect with all variety of flavours or great as an aperitif.
    $28.95 Bottle
  9. Dry as bone, flinty, crisp and steely. Riesling for riesling fans. Try with a 5 spice pork roast. Produced organically.
    $24.95 Bottle
  10. Floral and citrus aromas, flavours of lemons, limes, and grapefruit characters, underpinned by mineral characters and refreshing acidity. Produced organically.
    $21.95 Bottle
  11. A nice clean broad riesling, dry with a reasonably long interesting finish. Text book stuff from Steve Smith and the team.
    $32.95 Bottle
  12. Semi dry in taste there is a unique calcified character, which is sometimes seen in classic Rieslings from the old world. The fine acidity helps harmonise the phenolics and fruit sweetness. Produced organically.
    $30.95 Bottle
