New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. Aromas of kiwifruit and melon on the nose. This travels onto the palate which is textured and well-rounded with a lively acidity that helps to balance it. Some lemon and green sweets on the palate with just some oak and honey which helps to round it out and give it a long finish.
    $43.95 Bottle
  2. The Knappstein Riesling has both elegance and intensity, with true Knappstein traits of lime, spice and white florals on the nose and a generously flavoured palate. Lively acid, mineral texture and a powerful and persistent lemon finish.
    $23.95 Bottle
  3. The wine that smells of grapes! Delicious, musky, Muscat grapes. And lychee, grapefruit and rose petal. Luscious palate, dry finish. Handles a bit of heat and spice beautifully.
    $18.95 Bottle
  4. Named after the Otiran Glaciation period that formed our Glacial River Stones terroir, Otira expresses a crisp minerality not unlike the glacier itself. Coupled with a sophisticated finesse that takes you on a journey of the senses, it's a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc like no other.
    $35.95 Bottle
  5. Fresh and vibrant aromatics of lemon, lime and orange blossom followed by a soft and luscious palate of honey, mandarin, and crème brulee. Low alcohol, medium dry.
    $21.95 Bottle
  6. Luscious aromas of orange blossom, lime zest and hints of beeswax. Lively, concentrated palate bursting with flavours of white-fleshed stone fruit, fresh citrus and melon. An underlying touch of saline minerality, leading to a long and juicy dry finish.
    $28.95 Bottle
  7. Handcrafted crisp and vibrant dry-style Riesling harvested from the Puketapu block. Lively and fruit-forward, with great cellaring potential.
    $24.95 Bottle
  8. Ripe juicy stonefruit and bright citrus peel characteristics meet in a richly textured Nelson Chardonnay. Hazelnut, flint and spicy French oak. Layers of citrus peel and juicy stonefruit flavours. Subtle hints of hazelnut, flint and spicy oak. Full bodied and richly textured with a creamy mouthfeel, A delightful long and lingering finish.
    $28.95 Bottle
  9. This aromatic, concentrated wine retains remarkable freshness and balance through the drying process. This balance of concentration and acidity make it a wonderful food match with a wide range of cheeses, pâtés, and desserts. Drinking well in its youth, this wine will also cellar for an extremely long time.
    $61.95 Bottle
  10. Very intense, lively aromas of orange blossom, lime and crisp green apple, with jasmine floral notes. Beautifully structured wine, with great balance and acidity. Citrus fruits continue through the palate, with a hint of oyster shell, and a beautiful textured and lingering finish. While drinking superbly on release, this wine will continue to improve and evolve for years to come.
    $37.95 Bottle
  11. Co-ferment of Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Riesling - a classic Alsace combination, shining with bright nectarine fruit, seductive spice and underpinning minerality.
    $27.95 Bottle
  12. Exotic blend of Gewurztraminer and Muscat left on skins for 6 months. Tangy fresh zesty acidity, orange peel and luscious fruits with a lightly tannic bite on the finish.
    $26.95 Bottle
