New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. Floral aroma - maybe pineapple, honey nougat, citrus, baked cheesecake. Palate blends fresh grapefruity acidity with rich, creamy spiced sweetness.
    $24.95 Each
  2. An elegant and rich Chardonnay made with minimal intervention to ensure it is a true representation of the site, soul and Season. Great example of heights now achieved at Palliser!
    $79.95 Bottle
  3. Full-bodied, rich and spicy with a peachy sweetness, a mealy savouriness, polished cedary oak and a rich, expansive, creamy finish with delectable hints of butterscotch and crème brulee.
    $44.95 Bottle
  4. Fresh peach, ripe pink grapefruit, vanilla, dried fig and aromatic spice. The palate is elegant and complex with stone fruit, a hint of orange, toasted hazelnut and a toffee note. Ten months maturation on lees in French oak barrels has created a rich creaminess and fine tannin structure.
    $29.95 Bottle
  5. A broad Oaky Chardonnay with ripe peachy fruit and a nice crisp finish.
    $29.95 Bottle
  6. Burgundy bargain hunters, look no further. Succulent honeydew melon and the classic milkgum malo character, beautifully balanced with a mouthwatering, fresh finish.
    $25.95 Bottle
  7. Classic Chardonnay with crisp fruit and soft oak complexity. Perfect for those who don't like overly oaked Chardonnay. Enjoy with white meats or creamy pasta.
    $16.95 Bottle
  8. The Chardonnays from 2018 are supple and approachable and this makes the typically fragrant Hunting Hill very pretty, with its lemon/lime blossom aromas and hint of orange. The palate has a supple texture and lingering flavour which provides a long finish, and it has a salty, mineral tang on the end.
    $89.95 Bottle
  9. Coddington is the most approachable in its youth. The subtle characteristics of the estate Chardonnay are amplified here, but kept in check with a line of acidity that keeps this very moreish wine lightweight and balletic.
    $72.95 Bottle

  10. This elegant Chardonnay has wonderful minerality and flavours of orange blossom, lemon curd, honeysuckle and stone fruit mingled with toasted cumin seeds and struck match.
    $29.95 Bottle
  11. Creamy and rich with subtle French Oak enveloping an array of juicy stonefruit. Lees ageing adds biscuity flavours to the palate, finishing long and fresh. Top class Chardy!
    $43.95 Bottle
  12. From one of Hawkes Bay's finest boutique winemakers. Bright, zippy wine, full of mouth-watering citrus fruit, and layered with a hint of smoky minerality. Light, fresh and elegant.
    $25.95 Bottle
