New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. Pale straw in colour. Powerful aromatics with rose petal and spicy coriander notes. Pure and focused with the aromatics carrying through to the palate in a complementary way.
    $22.95 Bottle
  2. From Marlborough this is one of NZ's most consistently delicious Gewurztraminers. Luscious and fragrant with a good balance of acidity and a lasting finish.
    $34.95 Bottle
  3. Aromatic and full of flavour. Lychee and apricot evident on the nose with a rich, full texture and spicy, luscious finish.
    $19.95 Bottle
  4. Intense aromatic characters of rose petal, orange blossom and coriander. The palate is broad and soft with an excellent balance, while remaining dry on the finish.
    $21.95 Bottle
  5. Tropical fruit notes dominate the bouquet with lychee, passionfruit and pineapple, plus hints of rose. On the palate the wine has a lovely texture and mouthfeel, with luscious tropical fruit flavours. The wine will benefit from bottle age. The wine is a single vineyard wine, with fruit from our Roy’s Hill Vineyard.
    $28.95 Bottle
  6. Light yellow with light reflections of good intensity. The nose is marked, pleasant and intense. Fresh scents: citrus fruits (yuzu zest, clementine, lemon), exotic fruits (pineapple) and spices (ginger). Airing enhances these scents and reveals white peach, apricot and a slight hint of smokiness, such as a pencil lead. The nose shows a sophisticated ripe and tonic profile.
    $40.95 Bottle
  7. The fruit impact is immediate with orange marmalade, lemon and ginger mixed with rumtopf style preserved fruit on show on the palate. All revolves around the middle of the palate with this wine, where it has a gorgeous and sumptuous mouthfeel with a silken and oily texture.
    $63.95 Bottle
  8. A kaleidoscope of grapiness, produced exclusively from hand harvested grapes in predominantly clay and limestone vineyards, from a dozen of the most favored localities in and around Riquewihr. Gentil "Hugel" allies the suave, spicy flavour of Gewurztraminer, the body of Pinot Gris, the finesse of Riesling, the grapiness of Muscat and the refreshing character of both Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner.
    $31.95 Bottle
  9. Stunningly well balanced with beautiful spice and floral notes. Will cellar well for 2 - 4 years.
    $24.95 Bottle
  10. Elegant and refined, yet layered and textural, the Chiaroscuro is a wine of many shades. Bringing together the very best characteristics from each variety: Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Viognier. The wine exudes a heady perfume of honeysuckle, citrus flower and fleshy white peaches. The palate shows a beautiful delicacy and harmony, with all varietals in unity. Finish is lengthy and dry.
    $24.95 Bottle
  11. Boldly aromatic with delicious hints of rose petal, lychee and ginger. Dry in style with a little residual sugar giving a soft, lasting finish. Great with lightly spiced dishes.
    $22.95 Each
  12. With maturing vines and a truly favourable year for Gewurz, this wine speaks with real accuracy and pride of its place. This, along with slow, whole bunch pressings, wild ferments and extended lees contact, has resulted in a wine which is defined by remarkable grace and clarity.
    $53.95 Each
