New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. A kaleidoscope of grapiness, produced exclusively from hand harvested grapes in predominantly clay and limestone vineyards, from a dozen of the most favored localities in and around Riquewihr. Gentil "Hugel" allies the suave, spicy flavour of Gewurztraminer, the body of Pinot Gris, the finesse of Riesling, the grapiness of Muscat and the refreshing character of both Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner.
    $29.95 Bottle
  2. This wine shows a nice yellow color with glints of gold. Smoked notes, spicy, floral. Smoothy and fresh mouth, intense with a hint of white flower.
    $32.95 Bottle
  3. Light yellow with light reflections of good intensity. The nose is marked, pleasant and intense. Fresh scents: citrus fruits (yuzu zest, clementine, lemon), exotic fruits (pineapple) and spices (ginger). Airing enhances these scents and reveals white peach, apricot and a slight hint of smokiness, such as a pencil lead. The nose shows a sophisticated ripe and tonic profile.
    $37.95 Bottle
  4. Golden yellow with green reflections of good intensity. The nose is marked, pleasant and intense. Candied, exotic (passion fruits, mango, papaya, lychee), floral (rose) scents. Airing enhances these scents and reveals vanilla, banana, yellow fruits, pear, peach and spices (crystallised ginger). The onset in the mouth is fleshy and sweet. The alcoholic base is full-bodied.
    $41.95 Bottle
