New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. Fantastic balance. Just enough buttery oak to broaden out and enhance a fruity palate with an underlying zing of minerality. Perfect Gizzy wine...satisfyingly good value!
    $18.95 Bottle
  2. The Skeetfield Vineyard has old vine dry-farmed Mendoza Chardonnay vines. The fruit was hand-picked and whole bunch pressed with minimal settling. This wine was 100% barrel fermented and matured, with 60% new Taransaud French oak.
    $71.95 Bottle
  3. 100% ovum, first use. Skeetfield fruit, unfined and unfiltered. Beautiful nose with subtly mealy citrus fruit. The palate has beautiful texture and finesse. There’s a bright, lively citrus core with fine-grained structure. Such precision and detail with some spicy, mealy richness.
    $139.95 Bottle
  4. From one of Hawkes Bay's finest boutique winemakers. Bright, zippy wine, full of mouth-watering citrus fruit, and layered with a hint of smoky minerality. Light, fresh and elegant.
    $25.95 Bottle
  5. Creamy and rich with subtle French Oak enveloping an array of juicy stonefruit. Lees ageing adds biscuity flavours to the palate, finishing long and fresh. Top class Chardy!
    $43.95 Bottle
  6. This elegant Chardonnay has wonderful minerality and flavours of orange blossom, lemon curd, honeysuckle and stone fruit mingled with toasted cumin seeds and struck match.
    $29.95 Bottle
  7. Coddington is the most approachable in its youth. The subtle characteristics of the estate Chardonnay are amplified here, but kept in check with a line of acidity that keeps this very moreish wine lightweight and balletic.
    $72.95 Bottle

  8. The Chardonnays from 2018 are supple and approachable and this makes the typically fragrant Hunting Hill very pretty, with its lemon/lime blossom aromas and hint of orange. The palate has a supple texture and lingering flavour which provides a long finish, and it has a salty, mineral tang on the end.
    $89.95 Bottle
  9. Classic Chardonnay with crisp fruit and soft oak complexity. Perfect for those who don't like overly oaked Chardonnay. Enjoy with white meats or creamy pasta.
    $16.95 Bottle
  10. Burgundy bargain hunters, look no further. Succulent honeydew melon and the classic milkgum malo character, beautifully balanced with a mouthwatering, fresh finish.
    $25.95 Bottle
  11. A broad Oaky Chardonnay with ripe peachy fruit and a nice crisp finish.
    $29.95 Bottle
  12. Fresh peach, ripe pink grapefruit, vanilla, dried fig and aromatic spice. The palate is elegant and complex with stone fruit, a hint of orange, toasted hazelnut and a toffee note. Ten months maturation on lees in French oak barrels has created a rich creaminess and fine tannin structure.
    $29.95 Bottle
