    Gonzalez Byass Oloroso Matusalem

    Matusalem after 30 years in cask has acquired an intense mahogany colour with profound aromas of dried fruits, raisins, spices and mature wood, as well as leather and cocoa. On the palate smooth and sweet, long and velvety. Matusalem has an interesting bitter sweet finish due to its mix of the sweet Pedro Ximénez and bitter tannins from the oak.

    The wine has a soft pink salmon hue ranging into an apricot color. White flowers on the nose with peach, stone fruit, and mineral notes opening up to aromas of cantaloupes, honeydew, manuka, and talcum. The front palate is soft and rich with lush cheeks. The mid-palate adds a bit of baking spice and brambly fruit. The finish is bright and crisp.
