Moore Wilson’s is passionate about championing our home-grown produce and that extends to wine, beer, cider and spirits. We stock hundreds of wines from all over New Zealand, but if your palate also enjoys international journeys, we have a wide range of red and white wines from France, Spain, Italy, Australia, Argentina, South Africa and the USA

 

There are hundreds of wines to choose from in the Moore Wilson’s range, and we go all the way up to some of the world’s rarest and finest examples - perfect gifts for your wine-buff friends, or take advantage of our everyday low prices to stock up your cellar. We have carefully a selected a few of these vinous treasures for the online store, and we’ll be adding more soon, so do check back, or visit us in store for a wider selection.

 

And of course, Wellington is New Zealand's craft beer capital, so we have a great selection from locals including Garage Project, PanheadTuatara, ParrotDog, and Emersons. We also stock a wide range of classics and international beers, including low-alcohol and non-alcoholic beer like Clausthaler and Moretti Zero.

 

New Zealand is developing a great reputation for spirits - Rogue Society and Lighthouse make very fine gin, and we have some up and coming vodka and whiskey producers too, including the very exciting Thomson Manuka Smoked Whisky. If you can’t find what you’re looking for online yet, check with one of the stores.

  1. Not particularly challenging, but then, who wants a challenge EVERY night! This is a a good solid table wine that drinks easily, with nice fruit to appeal to a broad range of palates.
  2. This highly appealing single-vineyard Pinot Gris from low yielding vines brims with flavours and aromas of pear, white stonefruit,honeysuckle and lemon citrus notes, and ginger spice hints. The palate is luscious, yet refined, with a soft smooth satisfyingly long finish. A beautifully balanced wine, for enjoyment on its own, or paired with food.
  3. Another cracker from Peregrine, this organic Pinot Gris is dry in style with lovely texture and fresh flavours of apricot, pear and ginger. Produced organically.
  4. Super value Syrah from Hawkes Bay. Red fruits, white pepper and soft spice are all evident. Tannins are medium bodied and the finish is smooth and balanced.
  5. A big seller and a classy little number for the price. A raisiny, porty front palate is folowed by a smooth, fruit laden mid palate and a decent, reasonabley complex finish.
  6. From the team at Sileni comes this easy drinking and approachable Pinot Gris. Medium bodied with ripe tropical fruits and a touch of soft spice.
  7. The nose has hints of wild fruits and brambles. It is supported by elegantly restrained tannins, gently adding depth to the palate but never intruding. Produced organically.

  8. Elegant and mineral aromatics of gunflint and grape-fruit along with savoury oak notes. Some toasty brioche nuance along with subtle crème caramel notes.

  9. Now under the expert hand of Ant Mckenzie, This Hawkes Bay take on Bordeaux is one to watch. Lush forest fruits, cedar wood and cacao. Silky tannins.
  10. Complex notes of manuka honey, old fashioned rose, quince and baking spice. The palate delivers a full range of flavours including ripe stone fruit and toasted brioche. This is a full bodied wine with warmth and generosity from both alcohol and residual sugar coupled with a very soft acidity. Expect this wine to develop toasty and spice notes under its natural cork closure.
  11. Reliable and affordable Bordeaux blend from the Hawkes Bay. Soft and approachable with flavours of blackberry, dried meats and leather. Medium bodied tannins and soft finish.
  12. Dictador 12 Years Rum is made from the fermentation of virgin sugar cane honey distilled partly in copper alembic and partly in steel continuous column, to achieve a medium body rum. Aged in pre-used oak barrels and finally bottled under the highest quality control to ensure all the secrets are contained in the liquid flavour.
