Moore Wilson’s is passionate about championing our home-grown produce and that extends to wine, beer, cider and spirits. And of course, Wellington is New Zealand's craft beer capital, so we have a great selection from locals including Garage Project, Panhead, Tuatara, ParrotDog, and Emersons. We also stock a wide range of classics and international beers, including low-alcohol and non-alcoholic beer like Clausthaler and Moretti Zero.

 

New Zealand is developing a great reputation for spirits - Scapegrace and Lighthouse make very fine gin, and we have some up and coming vodka and whiskey producers too, including the very exciting Thomson Manuka Smoked Whisky.     The jewel in the Esk Valley crown. This single vineyard wine sourced from the Heipipi Vineyard is widely regarded amongst the finest of New Zealand’s wines. Brilliant ruby red, the aromas are fruit-rich when the wine is young, later mellowing with bottle age into ripe plum fruit layered over a faintly grassy background note. Dry, soft and well-balanced on the palate it reveals a pleasing bitter twist in the finish and good aromatic length.

    The nose of this wonderful Côte de Provence shows initially freshly cut grass, flowers petals and light red berry fruits. The mouth is endowed with roundness, finesse with a beautiful, sensual body. A light and crisp acidity on the finish is reminiscent of British candies with aniseed hints, fennels or ‘Berlingots of Carpentras’.

Moore Wilson’s began life in Wellington as a general wholesale merchant. From the day the doors opened, it’s been a family business, managed day-to-day by the Moore family.
