'Spirits' (AKA 'hard liquor') is the term for all distilled alcohol - in fact, the name 'spirit' came from alchemists who believed the vapor of distillation was a 'spirit' of the original material. Technically 'spirits' and 'liqueurs' are different - spirits have no added sugar, while liqueurs do - but they tend to be lumped together. Virtually all known spirits were used as health tonics or elixirs at some point in history, but transmuted into good fun drinks over time. Many countries have their 'national' drink - gin, whisky, schnapps, grappa, ouzo, soju, vodka, rakia/rakija...there's quite a list. Experiments began with sugars and flavours - resulting in limoncello, cynar, Benedictine...that's an even longer list.
  1. Bright golden yellow colour. On the nose: high muscatel intensity with light vanilla notes. On the palate: sweet, round and smooth. Medium persistence.

  11. Delicately distilled eight times by a master distiller using only sugarcane and pristine New Zealand spring water, this vodka is show-stoppingly smooth and delicious. Fresh and sustainable sugarcane was chosen to craft a spirit full of life’s natural sweetness, grown with the same warmth and sweetness Burnt Hill wish to propagate to the world. The byproduct of sugarcane is used to fuel the refining process, after which the remaining product is made into sustainable building and packaging materials for a minute carbon footprint.
    $62.95 Bottle
  12. The Aperitivo Cappelletti, endearingly known to locals as just “Specialino”, may be the oldest style of the classic red bitter still in production. Unlike its larger commercial rivals, Cappelletti is less sweet and has a wonderful drying finish. This yields a Negroni or Spritz that is dry and refreshing in the finish. It is made just outside of Trento in Alto Adige by the Cappelletti family, who also produce a number of other exceptional aperitivi and Amari.
