New Zealand is most famous on the world wine stage for Sauvignon Blanc, and with good reason. But here at Moore Wilson's we hunt out the best of all the white varieties from local producers, and spice it up with some international contenders from excellent wineries. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris (AKA Pinot Grigio) are the ubiquitous names, but there's plenty more out there: semillon (seh-mi-yohn), viognier, riesling, gewurztraminer...

  1. Upon release it has a subtle lemon hue. The bouquet is vibrant, an intoxicating assortment of tropical and citrus. Heady aromas of passionfruit and pineapple flirt temptingly against a backdrop of grapefruit, green apple, lemon peel and a hint of gunflint. The mouthfeel is textured yet precise, with a rousing whip of acidity and simmering phenolics that give the wine increased structure and length. A complex and serious Sauvignon Blanc, displaying intense varietal character, a multi- faceted palate, and a long salivating finish.
    $26.95 Each
  2. With immense purity, depth and finesse, this pedigree Chardonnay is among the best.
    $74.95 Each
  3. Cognoscente Hawkes Bay Chardonnay 2022
    $21.95 Each
  4. 40% of this wine was fermented in old French barrels, not for the oak, but for the form of the vessel itself. Mouthfeel is gained here by high lees to wine contact and a more efficient natural lees stirring across unhurried wild ferments.
    $39.95 Each
  5. Ripe citrus aromas of navel orange and stonefruit, a medley of nougat, flint and vanilla notes to add to the complexity and interest on the nose. A silky attack with sweet fruit flavours of lychee and navel orange, almond and clove in the rich textural mid palate, with hints of nougat and vanilla balanced with fine oak and a lingering citrus finish.
    $37.95 Each
  6. Lemon, honeycomb, white florals, taut.
    $31.95 Each
  7. Terroir Project Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc delivers on all the hallmark traits that Marlborough Sauvignon is famous for; intense aromatics, fresh fruit flavours and a juicy, lingering acidity.
    $14.95 Each
  8. This wine has all the classic hallmark traits of classic white Burgundy. It presents as pale gold in colour with aromas of ripe pear, white peach and citrus. The palate is concentrated, juicy and round, with citrus and stone fruits and a touch of creaminess. The oak is well-integrated in both aroma and flavour. A crisp, fine line of acidity with a clean, mineral finish.
    $27.95 Each
  9. The F-Series Field Blend was made up of 5 different varieties all organically grown on Framingham's home estate. The varieties include Viognier, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc.
    $28.95 Each
  10. Vibrant floral, apricot, honeysuckle and lychee aromas lead into a satin textured, fresh and balanced palate with flavours of white nectarine, tangerine and mild spices.
    $18.95 Each
  11. Evocative Awatere notes of lime and lemongrass combine wonderfully with slightly richer Wairau fruit, giving a little tropical hit with a zesty twist. Perfect with salads and seafood.
    $11.95 Each
  12. Classic apples and pears, with enticing floral notes. Gorgeously succulent, but superbly well-balanced, with an appetizing freshness on the long, persisntent finish.
    $11.95 Each
